Ancient art of fire painting
Monika Forrest (Baranowska) known by many of you as a legal professional and an interpreter/ translator is also an author of many encaustic paintings. She started her creative journey as a little girl with oil paints given to her by her grandfather. At some stage she found interest in fire painting on wood and sculpture. However, few years ago she discovered her big love: an ancient art of painting with fire and molten pig-mented beeswax. Monika's art is often inspired by nature, dreams, and childrenβs fairy tales. Her works are very different though. There is a variety of subjects to submerge in. Monika says: 'What I love about encaustic art is an untamed, totally wild process of creation. Creative meditation. I leave all the rules behind. I quiet my mind and let my-self be guided. Hot beeswax spreads like lava, pigments connect and combine while i dance with live flame' .
