Another job completed for a customer who contacted us about draughts and exterior noise coming through their windows. 🌬️🔊

We carried out a full hinge replacement, upgrading the windows to Easy Clean Hinges. These allow the customer to safely slide the windows across and clean the outside glass from inside their home — no ladders and no leaning out windows! 🪟🧽✅

🚪🔧 DOOR REPAIR FOR A RETURN CUSTOMER 🔧🚪

A return customer contacted us about a door she had fitted not too long ago. Unfortunately, the door had been catching and not working correctly from day one — and it had now gotten so bad that she was having to slam the door shut, causing damage. 😬

On inspection, we found the hinges were already fully adjusted with no adjustment left. The problem wasn’t the hinges — the door had simply been badly fitted.

💰 Rather than replacing perfectly good parts and costing the customer more money, we:

🔧 Removed the existing hinges
📏 Repositioned the door by a couple of millimetres
🔩 Re-fitted the same hinges
✅ Realigned and adjusted everything correctly

The result? 👌

🚪 Door opening & closing smoothly
🔐 Locking correctly
💨 Sealing properly
💰 No unnecessary parts replaced

Following our survey, we also spoke directly with the company responsible for the original installation. 🤝

🚨 Unsafe Window Repair – A Serious Hazard! 🚨

Not every repair is a safe repair.

This window had been “fixed” by simply screwing the sash into the frame after the hinges and mechanism had failed. ❌ With no proper support, the sash was at risk of falling out, creating a serious danger to anyone below.

✅ We removed the unsafe repair.
✅ Fitted the correct hinges and mechanism.
✅ Realigned the window.
✅ Checked it was sealing, locking, and operating safely once again.
