5 ways to make your kitchen look more expensive than it is.

1.) invest in good quality hardware.

2.) consider glass doors on cabinets, these can be used to display decorative items or glassware and can make a space look premium.

3.) ditch basic sockets and go for a richer finish.

4.) consider a skirting plinth around your kitchen island for a high end look.

5.) include multiple light sources instead of just spotlights. Allow for LED’s, wall lights, pendants.

Someone asked me recently, “What space in a home is your favourite to design?” And I know it might not be everyone’s first answer, but the hallway is often quite a challenge and I like that. It’s often the most forgotten space, but in my opinion, the most important. It’s the first impression of your home.

Throwing it back to this project last year, the hallway was not very wide so we wanted to make the flooring the focal point. Changing up the installation from herringbone in the hallway to plank at the threshold before entering into a new room.

PROGRESS

After visiting this stunning home yesterday, I went back to find some progress photos from when the extension to their old home first broke ground… and it’s such a fantastic feeling seeing a home truly come to life.

I’ve worked flexibly with these clients from the beginning, and now, after a few pauses, decisions and two babies later (one mine, one theirs 😅) we’re into second fix, finalizing furniture + soft finishes.

Such an exciting stage, and I can’t wait to see it all come together.
