⚠️ PLEASE BE AWARE – FIREPLACE & STOVE INSTALLATIONS ⚠️
This is another installation we’ve recently been asked to inspect after serious issues were discovered behind what looked like a perfectly finished fireplace.
From the outside, many installations can appear neat and professionally completed…
but it’s what’s hidden behind the plasterboard and fireplace that really matters.
In this case, we found:
• Severe heat damage behind the installation
• Burnt and cracked materials surrounding the stove
• Unsafe workmanship hidden from view
• Damage that had been developing long before it became visible
These aren’t cosmetic issues—they’re serious safety concerns.‼️
Unfortunately, we’re seeing more and more homeowners having to pay twice 💰
Once for the original installation, and again to have it dismantled, made safe, and rebuilt correctly.
We’re not sharing this to criticise other companies or tradespeople. There are many excellent professionals in the industry. ⚒️
Our aim is simply to remind homeowners that choosing on price alone can sometimes end up costing far more in the long run.
When it comes to fireplaces, stoves, and media walls, experience, knowledge, and safe installation are just as important as the finished appearance.
Before choosing a company, ask yourself:
✔️ Do they specialise in fireplaces and stoves?
✔️ Do they understand heat regulations and safe clearances?
✔️ Are the electrics and ventilation installed correctly?
✔️ Are they fully insured and qualified?
✔️ Will they stand behind their work for years to come?
✔️ Do they have a showroom or an established business you can visit?
A fireplace should do more than just look good it should be installed safely and built to last.
Because once everything is plastered, painted, and finished…
you won’t see what’s underneath until a problem appears.
