⚠️ IMPORTANT – FIREPLACE & STOVE SAFETY ⚠️

This is a job we are currently fitting in Clontarf where serious issues were uncovered from a previous installation carried out by others.

(Previous work was NOT completed by JR Fireplaces.)

From the outside, the original fireplace looked neat and professionally finished…
but once work began and the area was opened up, the hidden problems quickly became clear.

What we found:
• Severe heat damage behind the stove area
• Burnt and deteriorated materials surrounding the installation
• Unsafe workmanship hidden behind the finished wall
• Damage that had clearly been developing over time
These are not cosmetic defects — they are serious safety concerns‼️

Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more cases like this, where homeowners are left paying twice 💰

once for the original installation and again to have the work rebuilt correctly and made safe.

This post is not about criticising other tradespeople.
There are many excellent installers in the industry ⚒️

But it’s important for homeowners to understand that fireplaces, stoves, and media walls must be installed correctly behind the scenes not just made to look good on the surface.

Before choosing an installer, always ask:
✔️ Do they specialise in fireplaces and stoves?
✔️ Are proper heat clearances being followed?
✔️ Is ventilation installed correctly?
✔️ Are electrics completed safely and professionally?
✔️ Are they insured and experienced?
✔️ Will they stand over their work years later?

A fireplace installation should not only look impressive when completed it should still be safe and reliable many years down the line. Because once everything is plastered, painted, and closed up you won’t see the problems until the damage is already done.

⚠️ PLEASE BE AWARE – FIREPLACE & STOVE INSTALLATIONS ⚠️

This is another installation we’ve recently been asked to inspect and put right after serious issues were discovered behind the finished fireplace.

From the outside, many jobs can look clean and professionally finished…
but what’s hidden behind the plasterboard and surround is what really matters.

In this case we found:
• Severe heat damage behind the installation
• Burnt and cracked materials surrounding the stove
• Unsafe workmanship hidden from view
• Damage that had already started long before it became visible

These are not cosmetic problems they are serious safety concerns‼️

Unfortunately, we’re seeing more and more cases where homeowners are left paying twice 💰
once for the original installation and again to have it made safe and rebuilt correctly.

We’re not sharing this to criticise other companies or individuals.
There are many good tradespeople in the industry. ⚒️
