As I plan my stand for the upcoming Art Source in November, I’ve started creating these two richly textured 50 × 50 cm Woodland Sanctuary pieces.

They bring together preserved mosses, ferns, botanicals and branches, with layers and tiny details inviting you to pause and explore.

Works to look at slowly, discover over time and return to whenever you need a moment of mindfulness and connection with nature. 🌿

Both pieces are now available on the Ninfa Studio website, and I’ll be bringing them along with new work to Art Source at the RDS.

This is a special piece for me.

The design first came to me in 2020, during Covid, when I was exploring the possibilities of moss as an artistic medium.

I still remember the intention behind it: a reflection on the interconnectedness of things, something we all felt particularly strongly at that time.

Since then, Hope has travelled quite a journey. It has received awards, been featured in interiors magazines, been commissioned in much larger formats for office spaces and became part of private collections as a diptych.

I love letting ideas I've explored before evolve into something new and unexpected. Once I start working, there are always things that take me into a different direction that I couldn't have planned in advance.

As this piece is now going to its new home in a Dublin office, I'm looking forward to revisiting Hope once again in a square format.

For Art Source in November, I want to explore how Hope changes when given a different sense of balance and movement, creating a new interpretation of the original idea.

I can't wait to start it 🌿

A few months ago, RTÉ Nationwide came to film a piece on my studio and my work with moss and botanicals and it finally aired this week 🌿

This is the beginning of that story: how it all started, and what led me here.

I’m quite camera-shy by nature, so a huge thank you to for putting me at ease in front of the camera and to the whole RTÉ Nationwide team for taking the time to understand my work and tell the story so beautifully.

Moss Flows explores the richness of natural textures, creating a sense of movement inspired by the constant change we see in nature.

As the office where it’s going has introduced yellow into their palette, I’ve used tones of lime green tending towards yellow, bringing warmth into the design.

One of the things I like about creating commissioned pieces is the opportunity to create something that belongs in the space, adapting colours, textures and design to complement the interior and reflect the client’s taste.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the artwork in situ and how it settles into its new space.

The last few months have been spent working on a commission for an office in Dublin.

The works are inspired by pieces I've created before but each has taken a character of its own 🌿 through a different colour, a new detail, a design change or a different material.

This is the last piece I made and I feel particularly attached to it.

It brings together preserved reindeer moss and amaranth filaments. I love the sense of movement they create together. The moss gives depth and richness, while the amaranth gives direction and definition.

I'm delighted to share that I have been selected as one of 48 designer makers for PORTFOLIO 2026/2027.

Supported and produced by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, PORTFOLIO is described as a programme that recognises designer-makers creating work that demonstrates excellence in design, craftsmanship, innovation and technical skill at a world-class standard.

Established in 2005, PORTFOLIO has become one of Ireland's most respected craft initiatives, helping makers like me expand our network and reputation for Irish craft while also accessing opportunities in galleries, museums and international markets.

As part of the programme, the selected makers will present their work in an exhibition at the National Design & Craft Gallery in Kilkenny in early 2027.

And so it’s my birthday 🎉

Not that I still have a great desire to celebrate after a certain age… 😄

But days like this do make me think about the passing of time. And I deeply appreciate how lucky I am to be healthy, to have my loved ones near and far, and so many people who take even one minute of their day to say happy birthday.

At the end of it all, this is what I appreciate most about social media in its very essence: the way it makes people feel closer and more connected.

I’ve started slowing down a bit on social media too — not because I don’t care or don’t want to share. I think I’m just following my instinct.

I’m in a research period. Looking at new organic materials, how they can be used, what I can make with them… And honestly, I love this part of the process: spending time touching, feeling, trying, retrying, thinking.

I just can’t do all that with a camera on my face.

So if you’re wondering how I’m doing, this is what I’m into lately. Committed more than ever to my practice.

In exploration mode.

Enjoying the grounding connection that comes from working with nature every single day 🌿

If it’s not on camera, it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It will just be shared when the right time comes.
