There is something special about the first light of the day.

Morning sunlight does more than brighten your home. It supports your mental wellbeing in simple but powerful ways.

Three benefits of morning light:

• It helps regulate your body’s internal clock, making it easier to sleep well at night.

• It supports serotonin production, which can improve mood and help you feel calmer throughout the day.

• It reduces grogginess and helps you feel more focused, energised, and ready for the day ahead.

One of the reasons I designed our home to welcome as much natural morning light as possible is because our environment shapes how we feel every single day.

I’m starting a new series about one of the biggest lessons building our home has taught me. ✨

When we first started, I thought every room just needed to look beautiful. Now I see it differently.

Every room should have a purpose.
And every purpose should support your nervous system.

Before you choose furniture, colours, or décor, ask yourself one simple question:

“What do I want to feel in this room?”

Calm?
Connected?
Focused?
Rested?
Inspired?

The answer should guide every decision you make.

A home isn’t just a collection of rooms. It’s a place that shapes how you feel every single day.

This series is about the lessons I’ve learned while building our home, and how you can use them to create a home that supports your wellbeing too.

🤍 Follow along for the next episode, where I’ll share another lesson that completely changed the way I think about home.

Stop.

Before you start your day, do this.

Open the doors.

Take one minute to let the fresh air in. Let the morning light move through your home.

It’s such a simple habit, but it changes everything. The house feels lighter, fresher, and more alive. Before the coffee, before the emails, before the to-do list, this is my way of slowing down and starting the day with intention.

Sometimes creating a calmer home isn’t about buying something new. It’s about making space to enjoy what you already have.

One of Ireland’s most picturesque villages is right here in County Meath. 🌿

Moynalty’s old main street is filled with colourful flowers, beautiful trees, and historic buildings that have been lovingly cared for over the years. It’s a small village with so much charm.

Places like this remind me that the most beautiful homes and spaces aren’t about following trends. They’re about creating somewhere that feels calm, welcoming, and full of character.

Have you visited Moynalty?

August again.

Watching little feet run across the grass is a reminder that a home is never just the walls around us. It’s the laughter, the quiet mornings, the changing seasons, and the memories made in between.

This is what home means to me.

A place where children feel free to play, where nature is part of everyday life, and where every space is designed with intention. Calm, thoughtful interiors don’t just look beautiful. They help us slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the everyday moments that matter most.

I’m excited for everything August will bring and to keep sharing ideas that help you create a home that feels peaceful, personal, and connected to the way you live.
