Re-interiors Interior Architect/ designer getting and making the most of your space For as long as I remember I have been aware of how your environment can make you feel.

I get a good sense of it and how it might work better with the skilled use of space, light, colour and organisation. I have a passion for it because I know how it can really transform your outlook and feeling of well being. I spent years working in visual merchandising. This taught me how colour, light and space work together, three key elements in interior design. I also noticed how fashion influ

ences interiors. If you look at this years colours and styles on the catwalk you will most likely see them next year in top interior magazines. Whether it's boho chic or 70s retro. Eventually I followed my dream and was able to study and earn a degree in Interior design and architecture. I don't follow trends but do notice them and there are always elements of each style that work for the design. I aim to create a design that will best respond to my client's brief, giving their home comfort, style and atmosphere. Most of us have things that we love that are definitely not on trend! A big old armchair, ornaments that have been inherited from loved ones etc. I love being able to incorporate these into a cohesive scheme, it's what gives your home the personality that makes it unique. I was delighted to have been one of eight designers chosen by Colourtrend Paints to design a room set and consult for them at the last two Ideal Homes Shows in the RDS. I probably had a chat with you there!

Working from home is here to stay.
I designed a multi functional room for this family. A gorgeous sofa bed can be used for clients and guests, the fabulous shelving will hold files and pieces of stoneware books etc. Painting the room in white kitten from colourtrend paints will give a gentle backdrop to carry the darker colourtrend "ink well" on shelving and navy sofa.

To achieve a homely feel, particularly in a new build, you need layers of textures and lighting. I added tall plants to create privacy at the picture windows, some older pieces of furniture and unique artwork add more interest than all new items.
A lovely entrance for a great family!

A recent attic conversion design. These can be a little complicated with ceiling heights and getting as much storage in those eaves as possible without compromising design and feeling of space.

I've been getting so many queries about this fabulous pink sofa that I thought I'd put the information here. It's from Arrnotts and is from the "Whitemeadow" range. Apparently it has been discontinued ( I have enquired and am waiting to hear back from them) but it may be available from other outlets.
Let me know if you find one!

A fair bit of work went into completing this design to the mm, so was pretty chuffed that Dermot liked it so much! Delighted Paul and his Dad John were were involved in the implementation of it, and Paul's talented brother in law, James made the fantastic steel rail. A family affair!

So nice to share a few images of my work on tomorrow's "Room to Improve" in Blessington.
Stunning house. The views are so incredible that I wanted to keep the Interiors as simple and natural as possible.
Great clients who were unbelievably relaxed throughout the process, despite the drama, budget and babies!
More images are featured in the current editions of the Irish examiner, the Irish independent and the Daily star.
Dying to watch tomorrow night!
