Lovely Floral felting workshop scheduled here with for Saturday June 27th from 11am - 1.30pm

Join artist Emily as she guides you through making a felted work of art for your wall in a beautiful Floral summer style! This is suitable for both beginners and those more experienced in felting. It promises to be a fun and friendly Saturday experience 🙂

While the Feel the Force Festival will not take place this June Bank Holiday weekend, we’re already setting our sights firmly on 2027.
Planning ahead gives us a valuable opportunity to explore funding through grants, along with creative and meaningful fundraising events in the lead‑up to the festival. Most importantly, it gives us time to grow the ideas — and the community — that make the festival so special.
We’d love to hear your ideas. Are there events, activities, performances, or creative projects you feel would add something unique to Feel the Force Festival?
Behind the scenes, we are a small but passionate team, and we’re always keen to welcome new people who would like to help bring creative ideas to life — whether through planning, fundraising, programming, or simply sharing enthusiasm.
Join us on Monday 25th May at Brookpark businesses centre for an open brainstorming session where we’ll explore ideas together and start shaping the festival’s future.
Everyone is welcome — come along, share your thoughts, or just listen and see how you might like to get involved.

This meeting will be held in conjunction with Dunmanway Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Clare O’Callaghan Quilts

Clare began making home made quilts over ten years ago when she designed and made a quilt to celebrate her parents 40th wedding anniversary. Since then, she has been making quilts (averaging 1 a year due to the slow and intricate nature of the craft) sometimes working from an established pattern or mixing and matching various designs to create unique and original pieces.

Whilst intricate in the construction, Clare enjoys the slow and meditative approach to each quilt and the careful approach in colour and fabric selection. 

Clare is also intrigued in the history and development of quilting and enjoys learning the stories and inspiration behind some of quilting’s most famous and timeless patterns.

The quilt currently on display with Cecilia Scholte Lubberink at  Le Cheile Arts, Dunmanway is called “The Schoolgirl Sampler” quilt containing an appliqued centre block surrounded by 72 individual patchwork blocks. Each block is unique in design, all of them originating from America’s rich quilting heritage.
