What makes me happy ? Lots os things really, but days at the beach are my favourite. Capturing different images during various seasons, weather and places to inspire my textile artwork. Second last photo is of the little ice cream shop in Ballymoney. It has been in existence ever since I was a child and my mother’s childhood before me. We would treat ourselves to ice pops or ice cream during the summer months walking to the shop with family or friends . You don’t get the following in shops anymore but they used to do a wafer ice creams by cutting a block of vanilla icecream up on the shop counter (late 80’s / early 90’s) It’s the little things that you remember. But the sea always uplifts my mood and is my happy place 🙂🌊

**New for 2026**

I have also added ‘The Porthole Collection’ now available online . Two more to add … but I hope you like them. I have a few custom circular pieces heading out to a few stockists over the coming month and into March .
These are the same size as my standard small frames measuring 290x290mm but the mount is circular instead of square. Inspired by portholes on boats at sea 🌊

Busily working on orders from showcase and received a new delivery of frames today too. Very busy thank god !
** New stock coming soon** from mid week next week to Anchor in Ardmore who have been stocking my work since 2017. Then we’re heading onto a new stockist in Westport following that and then new stockists in the south west , the midlands and back to the west again and others .
In the meantime I have added a few new mini textile art pieces that I had at the show up online (more to follow) see below for examples

The amount of people who I met last week who thought my textile art were paintings, yes my work has been mistaken for paintings before. However up close you can tell the difference.

My methods are different, I don’t practice dry or wet felting so I don’t use needles or soap and water to create my pieces.
I use a combination of mixed media techniques, surface embellishment, relief surface techniques and sources of heat and subtle stitching and hand-sewing to create my desired effect. There are lots of textures and colours in my work and each piece is uniquely different to the next . Each piece is an original with no two the exact same .. slight differences will occur due to the nature of my materials.

I also celebrated 14 years in business recently and over the coming weekend I’ll be adding some of my pieces to my website from the show. To mark this occasion I have a little gift to you to say thanks 🙏🏻 for the support whether you have bought from me or not.
2026 is going to be promising, positive and fun!

Here is a look at my new collection ‘The Porthole Collection’ new for 2026. This is a series of round mounted mixed media textile pieces in square frames.
(Reindeer not included🤣😆 … it’s the reflection of the Christmas stand behind me)
This was taken at Showcase Ireland in the RDS last week. I was exhibiting my work from Sunday 18th to Tuesday 20th.
I met some of my lovely repeat stockists who made the journey up and I also met new customers too and I have a couple of a new stockists on board who are going to be stocking my work which is wonderful. Yay 🙌🏻
With the first of the orders going out from mid February. I’m flat out busy up to April or so and whatever else comes from the show . Have a good few leads. Was worth it !
This body of work is mostly of the sea but a few sheep / scenery pieces are included also .
I also had all my other sized. Frames , lamps and a sample collection of jewellery.
The mini sized frames went down really well with customers at showcase and above all I’m delighted with how it all went . Gráinne 😀

After a six year break from trade shows (I haven’t been to any since Covid) I made the return to Showcase Ireland in the RDS this year . I’ve known about it for some time . I had been busily working towards the show and all the textile artwork shown were all new original pieces. Included for 2026 and new to the market are my mini textile artworks and the porthole collection which is a series of circular sea inspired works . I also brought my most popular lamp designs including a new lamp design that I got printed not so long ago . And I brought a sample amount of my resin jewellery. I was delighted to have been offered a stand in the Design & Crafts Council Ireland hub in the Shelbourne hall . There was 12 of us in the hub which is an extension of the makers in the main hall. And we all got on well with each other, I couldn’t have asked for nicer bunch of people around me . Made new friends for sure . Thank you to all who visited my stand since Sunday, to my repeat customers and new customers who have come on board for 2026. I look forward to working with you and 2026 is going to be an exciting one for me. It was great to be back and I look forward to what else unfolds from the show. A good start to the year ! Video shows before build up and my finished stand . Proud to have hung my own shelves this year (with a little help from my mam) and manned the stand by myself during the three days . It was lovely to get to see and meet up with existing customers and exhibitors in person once more . Roll on 2027!

Happy New Year 🥳 and new work in progress .
‘Among the hay bales’ part of a new body of work launching January 18th 2026.
Can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on behind the scenes. I’ve been busy!!!
The bales are made using natural undyed flax which is a little coarse via touch but beautiful to work with.

New collection launching January 18th 2026 … introducing ‘The Porthole Collection’ inspired by portholes on boats to round windows looking out to sea. There are six designs but this collection may grow during the year. All are original mixed media textile artworks NOT prints ! Each piece will differ slightly due to the nature of my materials. I’m very excited to launch this collection alongside my mini collection of textile artwork for 2026. I’ll also have some other pieces in all sizes that I currently stock . And I’ll give you a peep 👀 at everything soon!! Roll on 2026… !! ✨🩵💙 Gráinne
