18th Century Italian Oak Coffer / Sword Chest

Large Italian Oak Church Coffer. Also known as a sword chest, it is in fantastic condition for its age. Small compartments on either side used for storing bibles etc. It is intricately carved with geometric shapes decorating the front, wonderful lion esq style feet and iron strapping. A true collectors item, it is both decorative and functional.

This is a large piece and has an intricate lock system. The key is still with it which is very unusual for a chest of this age.
