Ciorcal is here 🤍
Four pieces, four parts of life: grá (love), clann (family), abhaile (home), and Níl aon tinteán mar do thinteán féin (there's no fireside like your own). Each one a circle, each one floating just off the wall rather than sitting flat against it.
Live on our website now.

Trees are rich in many ways, answering our needs both practically and symbolically.

As symbols, they represent ourselves, our lives and our families: with the roots as where we have come from; the trunk as where we are now; and the leafed, flowering and fruiting branches as the rich potential of our children.

An original design carved by Studio co-founder Kathleen Smyth, it has a carefully polished pure bronze or iron finish with a ceramic resin cold cast pouring and was then framed at our studio in Kinsale.

Couldn't every home do with a little more happiness?
Ciúb is small enough for a window sill, and made to bring exactly that into whoever's home it is in.

Abhaile means home, or homeward, and yet for most of us there is a difference between the two.

Home is usually where you already are. Abhaile is the pull back toward it, that quiet tug felt on a delayed flight, a long drive, or a Sunday evening after a weekend away.

A small word for a feeling most people appreciate.

Before a piece becomes bronze, it is powder.
Bronze powder gets worked into every corner of the mould, coating it evenly before the resin sets around it. It happens in seconds, but get it wrong and the whole piece is lost.

There are so many small, quiet skills that most people never get to see.

A Roman poet wrote it down over two thousand years ago, and somehow it still says exactly what everyone eventually learns for themselves: that nothing outlasts love. Not distance. Not difficulty. Not time itself.

No matter how far you travel, some part of you is still finding its way back home.

This old saying has comforted generations who left Ireland, and generations who stayed behind and waited for them.

There is no fireside like your own.

Sonas. Happiness. Not the loud kind, the kind that sits quietly on a shelf and catches your eye on an ordinary weekday.

One of four words in our ciúb collection, and the perfect size to live with rather than just look at once.

Long before it was carved, this piece began as an idea. An idea that love is not just a feeling, but the one force strong enough to hold people together and complete them in the process.

Kathleen Smyth, our co-founder, carved the Celtic Love Cross around the words of the philosopher Teilhard de Chardin's, who believed love was the thread the whole universe is quietly woven from. One circle, holding a very large idea.

Wild Goose co-founder and chief designer for more than 30 years, Kathleen Smyth was responsible for many of the Studio’s best-loved and enduring pieces.
Largely self-taught and often working at her kitchen table, Kathleen developed her own distinctive style of modelling and sculpting which was very much in tune with the ancient Celtic and Irish carvings which inspired her designs.
