✨ PROJECT SHOWCASE: Aldana Graphite & Silestone Blanco Maple Quartz ✨

A look inside one of our recently completed kitchen installations, blending deep, dramatic cabinetry tones with bright, durable quartz surfaces. 🖤🤍

For this project, the goal was to create a modern-classic look with plenty of prep space and functional seating for the whole family.

Key Design & Material Specifications:

Worktops & Splashbacks: Luxury Silestone Blanco Maple quartz fitted across the main kitchen worktops, central island, matching upstands, and full-height hob splashback 🪨

Cabinetry: Solid ash narrow shaker doors painted in deep Graphite 🪵

Central Island: Topped with matching Silestone Blanco Maple quartz featuring an overhang for casual breakfast bar seating ☕

Wet Prep Zone: Undermounted 1.5 bowl stainless steel sink recessed seamlessly into the quartz with precision-cut draining grooves and a classic swan neck tap 🚰

Smart Living: Fully integrated cooking and cooling appliances to keep the overall look sleek and clutter-free 🍳

Every unit was designed, manufactured, and installed by the Cedarwood team in Wexford. 🔨

💡 DESIGNER'S KITCHEN TIP | Planning Your Island Dimensions 💡

A kitchen island is often the centerpiece of an open-plan home, but getting the proportions right is essential for both workflow and everyday comfort.

Here are the key dimensions and spacing rules to consider:

Island Depth: Most standard island base cabinets are 600mm deep, with the worktop cut wider to create a slight overhang. If you want a dual-purpose island combining food prep with breakfast bar seating, aim for a depth of 900mm to 1,000mm to accommodate both comfortably.

Length & Proportions: Island length is dictated by your room's layout rather than a rigid formula, but proportion is everything—it should feel balanced, not dominate the floor.

Walkway Clearances: Always maintain a clear walkway of 1,000mm to 1,200mm on every side. This ensures two people can easily pass each other, or someone can stand at a fully opened dishwasher, oven, or fridge door without feeling boxed in.
