19th-Century tambour-front Console Table

A magnificent 19th-Century French mahogany tambour-front Console Table or Buffet. Best described as a cross between a console table and a side cabinet, this elegant piece is surmounted by a finely veined white marble top enclosed by a pierced brass gallery.

The façade features a long central drawer above a pair of tambour doors, flanked by gracefully curved open side sections fitted with mirrors and a marble shelf. The cabinet is raised on reeded, tapering legs terminating in original brass sabot feet, adding both elegance and balance.

A rare and sophisticated example of French craftsmanship, offering both decorative presence and practical storage. (974A)

Magnificent quality French marquetry-inlaid bureau plat / ladies’ writing desk, combining elegant proportions with exceptional detail. Beautifully shaped and highly versatile, this charming table could be used as a writing desk, side table or centre occasional table.

The serpentine-shaped table is richly decorated with marquetry inlay throughout and features an ornate variegated gilt-brass rim. The shaped apron is enhanced with finely detailed brass corner and leg mounts, while the elegant cabriole legs terminate in beautifully carved brass feet. (1077A)

Early 19th-Century French Flame Mahogany Dressing Table

A superb early 19th-century French ladies’ dressing table dating from around 1830, featuring a beautifully figured flame mahogany finish with a rich, warm antique patina.

The elegant white marble top rests above a single frieze drawer, supported by four turned columns which are joined at the base by an attractive X-framed platform. The rounded mirror back is particularly decorative, supported by two turned columns topped with ornate gilt-brass urn finials.

A beautifully proportioned and highly decorative piece, combining the rich figuring of flame mahogany with marble, turned wood and gilt-brass detailing. It would make an elegant addition to a bedroom or dressing room. (1076A)

The dressing table is in very good overall condition for its age. The mercury glass has some slight oxidation, consistent with its age.

Good quality 1960s French Louis XV style five-drawer marquetry inlaid Chest. In wonderful condition, this French chest features a striking Breche marble top, fine brass hardware and intricate marquetry inlay.
