This sketchbook is a true manifestation of my “too scared to even start” mindset. 🙈 I bought it about 5 years ago, when I got back into art and drawing - and it has been in my office ever since, completely unused out of fear I’d “mess it up”. 🤦♀️
I’m so glad I found it during my (ongoing) office makeover and that my mindset has shifted from fear to curiosity when it comes to my art in the last few months.
I’m curious about my materials, mediums, how they interact, what will emerge on the page and most importantly, I have realized that I need to be in a state of play in order to create art.
I had to let go of the notion to create a masterpiece every time I touch paint and actually allow myself to play, without the expectation of achievement.
I’m delighted the sketchbook is no longer empty and excited to play on these bigger pages in the future! 😊
