โœฆ An In-Depth Course in Armenian Ceramics โœฆ

A rare opportunity to dive into Armenian culture and aesthetics through direct hands on work with the material. The Karakashian family one of the founding families of Armenian ceramic art in Jerusalem, creating in the city since 1919 and responsible, among other things, for the street signs in the Old City will be coming to HaMiffal for a master workshop.

In this 6-session course, we will move from the basics preparing and perforating a stencil using a traditional technique through delicate sketching on tiles, learning precise brushwork and painting, and all the way to firing the finished pieces. We will explore the central decorative motifs and develop a personal style within the traditional framework ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Some of my earliest memories of art take me back to my grandfatherโ€™s old shop. I must have been around five years old when he first started letting me sit beside him while he worked. The shop was filled with colors, brushes, and tiles.
Slowly I began learning how to hold the brush, how the colors moved, and how each little detail mattered.

Looking back, I realize it was never really about teaching. It was about the time we spent together. Those quiet moments side by side, painting and talking, are some of the most special memories I have.๐Ÿค

Without even realizing it then, those afternoons were my very first introduction to art. They planted a love that stayed with me and grew over the years.

I will forever be grateful for those moments and for him, because in many ways, my journey with art began right there beside him.๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ
