BIOGRAPHY
My name is Donara, i am from Moscow, Russia. I am a professional Senior Interior Designer and an Artist. I am fortunate enough, to have had the opportunity to study in my field of passion, interior design and art. I was accepted in the Moscow State Art and Industrial University named after of S.G. Stroganov, and after two years of studying there, i decided to pursue my studies at The Saint Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy, named after Alexander von Stieglitz, informally known as the Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design. I graduated in 2011, with a Master Degree in Interior Design. During my six years at university and as an extra curricular activity, I decided to actively attend lectures on history of architecture and design. It was important to me, to learn about classical design, to get a better understanding of the evolution of interior design. I believe as an interior designer one should have a sound knowledge of classical and modern interiors, and why they evolved and differ from one another. So i decided it was necessary for me to go back in time, and what better way than to visit the best museums across the world. I spent three and half months visiting the best museums across the United states, such as: The Metropolitan museum of Art, The Guggenheim museum, New York and San Francisco museum of modern art, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Washington DC National Gallery of Art, and the Getty Centre. Further more, it was also important to me to understand how people from different parts of the world, cultures and religions, produced different interior design and architecture. I travelled through Israel, Turkey and Egypt to know more about the classic Ottoman empire architecture and design. I visited museums and learned about traditional European architecture in major cities such as: Paris, Venice, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, Cologne, Vienna, Monaco and Brussels. I travelled across Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines, again learning about traditional Asian architecture and design. I lived 4 months in Mexico exploring Ancient Maya and Aztecs Civilizations. All that experience always found reflection in my projects, because I have been always guided by the life experience and inspired by my travels. I understood that it is impossible to achieve success only with artistic knowledge, because besides artistic talent, it is necessary to understand economics and business, to find success in a highly competitive market of interior design and architecture. Therefore, I went on to study at the All-Russian State Distance-Learning Institute of Finance and Economics and graduated in 2012 with a master degree in Financial Management. Throughout my education, i have used my vacations, to complete project in exterior/ interior design of cottages, doing model work and painting. During the later years of my degree course i worked part time as an junior interior designer for the Pole Design architectural studio, while completing my degree. Today i am the Senior Interior Designer at Domus Aurea Architects and a tutor in The British Higher School of Art and Design. Apart for my passion in Arts, Design, Architecture, I am a fond traveler, and love taking part in extreme sports such as: snowboarding, surfing, and wake boarding.
