Designed by Yuko Nagayama & Associates, Japan's Pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai centers around the theme of connection, with unfolds geometrical 3D lattice inspired by the mutual traditional Japanese and Arabic patterns.
The tridimensional façade is referencing the traditional Japanese art of Origami while combining Arabesque and Asanoha patterns and uncovers the cultural similarities between Japan and the Middle East. The structure also reminds of the Japanese 'Origata' gift wrapping.

Snøhetta’s winning proposal for the Budapest National Gallery / Ludwig Museum competition. Snøhetta’s proposal unites the gallery and museum under one cascading roofthat also functions as a public terrace. The design, reminiscent of the firm’s project for the Oslo Opera House, has two dominant sloping roof surfaces that integrate the complex with the surrounding landscape and form a distinctive silhouette.

HOUSE 1 is an architectural installation based on an experimental format for collaborative design and construction by ALICE (Atelier de la Conception de l’Espace) – an international group of young architects and researchers, scientists, and doctoral candidates from the EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), led by Director Dieter Dietz.
Built initially as proto-structure (primary construction) during a 5-day workshop in April, HOUSE 1 is an 11m x 11m x 11m balloon-frame timber construct holding the ‘genetic code’ for future developments. The project involved over 200 students, who worked in groups under the close guidance of 12 studio directors and the wood engineer Rémy Meylan.
