Gojju Avalakki | Puli Aval | Tamarind Poha | Imli Poha | Pulihora Atukulu

Quick & tasty Gojju Avalakki (Gojjuavalaki) recipe – a sweet, tangy and spicy Karnataka-style poha dish. Perfect as breakfast, snack or prasadam.
Made with tamarind, jaggery and flavorful tempering – ready in minutes!

Ingredients:
• Coarse poha (avalakki) powder
• Tamarind pulp
• Jaggery syrup
• Salt
• Puliyogare powder
• Water

Tadka:
• Oil
• Mustard seeds
• Green chilli
• Red chilli
• Channa dal
• Urad dal
• Peanuts
• Hing
• Coconut powder

Method:
1. Take coarse poha powder in a bowl.
2. Add tamarind pulp, jaggery syrup, salt and puliyogare powder.
3. Add little water and mix well.
4. Heat oil, add mustard seeds.
5. Add green chilli, red chilli, channa dal, urad dal and peanuts.
6. Add hing and pour poha mix.
7. Add coconut powder and mix well.
8. Rest for 5 minutes and serve.

Perfect for quick breakfast or prasadam.

🧺 INGREDIENTS
• Sabudana – washed & soaked (1:1 ratio, 4–5 hrs)
• Oil / Ghee
• Peanuts – fried, skin removed, coarsely ground
• Jeera (Cumin seeds)
• Green chilli – finely chopped
• Curry leaves – chopped
• Sweet potato – boiled & diced
• Turmeric (optional for vrat)
• Red chilli powder (as per vrat rules)
• Rock salt (sendha namak)
• Sugar – a pinch
• Lemon juice

🍳 METHOD (Shorts-Friendly Steps)

1️⃣ Wash sabudana 2–3 times, soak with equal water for 4–5 hours
2️⃣ Fry peanuts, remove skin & coarsely grind
3️⃣ Heat oil/ghee, add jeera, green chilli & curry leaves
4️⃣ Add sweet potato, turmeric & chilli powder
5️⃣ Add soaked sabudana + peanut powder
6️⃣ Mix gently, cover & steam cook on low flame
7️⃣ Add salt, sugar & lemon juice
8️⃣ Fluff lightly — non-sticky sabudana khichdi ready! 🙏

Method:

fresh ginger and squeeze out the juice using a muslin cloth.
In a non-stick pan, jaggery and ginger juice. Simmer until it thickens.
Add salt, turmeric, black pepper. Stir constantly.
Drop a bit into cold water. If it turns into a hard ball, it’s ready!
Pour into heart-shaped silicone molds or drop small spoonfuls onto parchment paper.
Let them cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar so they don't stick

• Boiled rice
• Curd
• Milk
• Salt

• Kadalebele (chana dal)
• Uddin bele (urad dal)
• Mustard seeds
• Jeera
• Hing
• Ginger powder
• Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves
• Pomegranate
Method
1. Mash boiled rice slightly.
2. Add curd, milk, and salt - mix well.
3. Heat ghee, add mustard, jeera, kadalebele & uddin bele.
4. Add hing, curry leaves, ginger powder.
5. Pour tempering over rice.
6. Garnish with coriander & pomegranate.
7. Offer as Ganesh Chaturthi Prasadam
