This unique craft involves intricate inlay work, where pure silver or sometimes gold is embedded into a dark-coloured oxidized alloy base, typically made from zinc and copper. The art form dates back to the 14th century during the reign of the Bahamani Sultanate, and it has remained an essential part of Indian heritage ever since.
