We recently completed a bedroom- dresser-bathroom set for a regular client’s teenaged daughter. Having established a close working relationship with the family over many years, it was imperative that the aesthetic that evolved acknowledged her current aspirations and left room for her own growth. A crater false ceiling was created to re-assign the center of a trapezoidal room, and a neutral palette with warm to blush tones was adopted and adapted to fluid surfaces that moved away from the odd shaped walls. The bathroom was a complete departure from this language and made more exciting with aqua-grey- to emerald toned floral mosaics with black profiles and fittings for an eclectic mix.

Very often, as service providers, we can get trapped in a situation where our availability and services are taken for granted, for whatever reason. Sometimes, it can be a situation of our making as well.

Ultimately, it is for us to find our comfort, hold our ground and walk away when something goes against our core values.

To function in a creative capacity, a conducive atmosphere is necessary. Only then is positive impact possible.

And sometimes, the odd appreciative text feels so much better than the final payment! ☺️

Our love for straight lines, courtyards, a white palette and double height spaces interspersed with textures created a space that is striking in its rooted Indianness and simultaneously contemporary in its Scandinavian minimalism. The solid wood furniture in teak tones is airy by day and comes together under pools of accent light by night, to create a space that speaks of warmth, comfort and understated indulgence.

Deep in the heart of Kurukshetra, Haryana, stands the product of our labour of love- a kind of construction that consumed our office over the years of Covid and beyond. An unhurried project that reflects this very quality, this residence for a family of 5 was conceived of as an oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city. Apart from punctuating the living spaces with natural light, a lot of attention was given to patterns. The modularity of various elements, be it brick or Jaisalmer stone, was explored and balanced to weave a home that speaks of the region it belongs to.

The idea for this brief was to focus on blending a more contemporary aesthetic with Indian elements, thereby uplifting the Indian fine dine experience. Touches of global chic, smart lines and curves were brought into play with the use of elements like the customized chandelier and finished-to-plaster coffered arches that utilize a soft play of focussed light and shade. Stark contrast, like that of shrubby trees against bare brick walls, adds the necessary amount of drama to an otherwise bare interior. Spatially speaking, a circular seating layout was optimized with booth style high backs to create nooks of privacy and passages in a tightly packed plan for maximizing functionality.

TRBC was commissioned to sculpt a tunnel-like volume in a commercial block into a fully functional cosmetology clinic with a pharmacy, consultation rooms and different sets of treatment spaces. The interior design brief was to target a high-profile clientele and project a luxuriant and indulgent experience. In a departure from our minimal approach, we endeavored to integrate a bit of curated excess, detail and brass elements that evoke muted glamour. This was then contrasted with jewel tones in the upholstery, against a backdrop of minimal warm oak tones and a largely warm white palette. The sharpness of spaces was toned down by rounding off the passages that lead into rooms on either side.
