SITE INSPECTION | CHENNAI 📍

A beautiful interior doesn’t happen just because the design looks good on paper.
It happens when someone is there to make sure every detail is executed the way it was intended.
Today’s site inspection was all about looking beyond the obvious.

From the overall finish to the smallest details —
the alignment of shutters,
the functioning of doors,
the depth and usability of storage,
the finishing of woodwork,
the proportions of each element,
the way every unit meets the wall,
and most importantly… whether the final ex*****on actually matches the design vision.

Because when you work in interiors, you quickly realise something:
Design is only 50% of the work.
Ex*****on is what makes the design real.
A drawing can look perfect.
A 3D can look stunning.

But when it reaches the site, there are hundreds of small decisions that determine whether the final space feels truly premium.
That is why site inspections matter.
I personally believe that the difference between an ordinary interior and a well-executed interior is often hidden in the details that people don’t immediately notice.

The gaps.
The alignment.
The finishing.
The proportions.
The usability.
The hardware.
The consistency.
The way different materials come together.
These may look like small things…

At GI Design Studio, our goal is not simply to design beautiful spaces.
We want to create spaces that are beautiful, functional, practical and built to last.
Every project teaches us something.
Every site visit makes us better.
Every detail we correct today becomes part of the quality we deliver tomorrow.
Because a project is not finished when the workmen leave.
It is finished when we can stand back and say —
“Yes. This is exactly how it was meant to be.”

PART 2 — BEFORE THE DESIGN BEGINS.🌠

In Part 1, I introduced the new project.
Now, the real process begins.

Before we draw a single line, choose a colour, or design a piece of furniture…

we first understand the space.
Where does the natural light come from? ☀️
How does the family actually use the home?
Where should the furniture go?
Where will the electrical points be needed?
How much storage is actually required?
And most importantly…

How should this home work for the people living in it?
Because good interior design isn't about filling a house with beautiful things.

It's about making every decision intentional.
Every wall has a purpose.
Every light has a purpose.
Every storage unit has a purpose.
Every square foot has a purpose.
And that's what I want to document through this project.

Not just the final reveal…
But everything that happens before the final reveal.
From understanding the space → planning → designing → material selection → ex*****on → and finally, the transformation.

This is Part 2 of the Project Documentation Series.
And we're just getting started. 🔥

Part 3 is where we take this understanding and start turning it into an actual design.

Follow GI Design Studio and watch the entire project unfold — one step at a time.

Because great interiors aren't just designed to look beautiful.

They're designed to work beautifully.

There’s something special about starting a project from ZERO. 🏗️

Today is Day 1 of our renovation journey.
What you’re seeing here isn’t beautiful yet.✨️

It’s old walls.
Broken surfaces.
Dust everywhere.
Demolition.
Mess.

And a lot of work waiting to happen.

But as an interior designer, I’ve learned something:
A good space doesn’t start with beautiful furniture.
It starts with a vision.🌠

Behind every finished home you see on Instagram, there’s a stage nobody usually shows you.

The planning.
The demolition.
The mistakes we need to avoid.
The site decisions.
The measurements.
The material selections.
The electrical work.
The carpentry.
The lighting.
The endless site visits.
And finally…

That moment when a completely ordinary space starts feeling like HOME.🏡

So I decided to document this project from the very beginning.

Not just the beautiful final photos.
The REAL journey.

From this 👆
to the space we have imagined.

I’ll be sharing the transformation step by step — the design decisions, site challenges, ex*****on, materials, costs, mistakes, and the little details that make a huge difference in the final result.

This is Day 1.
The place may look rough today…
…but remember this frame.
Because one day, we’re going to look back at this exact place and see how far it came.

And that's the part of interior design I love the most — turning an idea on paper into a place where someone's life is going to happen. ❤️

Follow GI Design Studio and come along for the entire transformation.

Day 1 → Day 2 → Day 3 → … → Final Reveal
The mess is only the beginning.

Wait till you see the final transformation. 🔥

For the first time, I'm not just going to show you the final interior.🌿

I'm going to show you what happens before the final reveal.✨️

From the first conversation with the client…

to understanding their lifestyle…
to planning the space…
to choosing materials…
to solving unexpected problems…
to site ex*****on…
and finally, watching an empty apartment slowly become a HOME.🏡

This is Casagrand Athens.

And this isn't going to be just another interior design project on my page.

I'm documenting the journey.🌠

Because behind every beautiful 3D render, there are hundreds of decisions that nobody sees.

Why did we choose this layout?
Why this material?
Why this lighting?
Why this colour?
What works in a 3BHK?
What doesn't?
Where should you spend more?
Where can you save?
What mistakes should a homeowner avoid before starting interiors?

And most importantly…
what actually happens when the design leaves the screen and enters the real world?

I'm going to show you all of it.
No hiding the process.
No showing only the perfect final shots.
Just the real journey of designing and executing a home.

This is PART 01.
And there's a lot more coming.

If you're planning your home interiors, thinking about buying a new apartment, or simply love seeing how a space transforms from an empty shell into a beautiful home…
follow along.

Because the final reveal is only the beginning.

Luxury isn't created by adding more.
It's created by choosing better. ✨

Every texture, every line, every light, and every material in this space was selected with one purpose—to make everyday living feel extraordinary.

A home should never just look beautiful in photographs. It should feel calm after a long day, welcoming to your loved ones, and timeless for years to come.

From the warm wooden finishes to the soft lighting, from the elegant wall mouldings to the clean TV unit detailing, every element works together to create a space that feels peaceful, premium, and personal.
This is what we believe at GI Design Studio—great interiors aren't about filling a room with expensive things. They're about creating an experience you'll love every single day.
