Social spine | Northstar phase 2

Bridging the first and second phases of Northstar, the central courtyard creates a shared space for congregation, annual meets and outdoor study. Green pockets soften the built edges and giving the courtyard a sense of life.

A perforated exposed-concrete roof shelters the courtyard while allowing natural light and ventilation to filter through.

Varying perforations across the roof create shifting patterns of light and shadow through the day, adding another layer to the experience of the courtyard.

Unbuilt Stories Ep 2 | Senior Living Community, Hyderabad

Designed in response to the site’s natural topography, the apartment block is thoughtfully composed to ensure that each residence is oriented to capture expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Designed specifically for seniors, every aspect of the development prioritizes comfort, accessibility, and everyday wellbeing.

Barrier-free planning, generous openings, and shared green spaces create a living environment that is calm, connected, and filled with natural light.

Deep Overhang | Library

At Raga Svara, every intervention begins with the landscape. The library is positioned beneath an existing banyan (Ficus benghalensis), eponymous with learning, allowing the tree to define the character of the space. Rather than enclosing knowledge within walls, the design harnesses natural light, shade, and ventilation, while the built form recedes to foreground the existing landscape.

Unbuilt Stories | Senior Living Community, Hyderabad

Designed as a proposal for a senior living community in Hyderabad, the project responds to a contoured site through a series of residential clusters and shared green spaces, creating an environment centred around accessibility, nature, and community.

The clubhouse takes shape from the site’s triangular footprint, with its fragmented massing creating a network of open courts, landscaped terraces, and communal spaces that encourage interaction and everyday living.

Inward Horizons | One Ground Home

How does one ground grow beyond its footprint?

Built on a compact southwest-facing corner plot in Trichy, One Ground Home is worked around the everyday life of a close-knit family. Interconnected volumes, internal courts and a central atrium create visual links across floors, allowing the house to remain open and connected while preserving privacy.

The western facade is designed as a secondary skin, using terracotta jaalis, metal grilles and climbing greens to filter the harsh western light into the home’s common spaces. The layered envelope casts ever-changing patterns of light and shadow while improving thermal comfort and reducing heat gain.

The house unfolds across a carefully composed section that encourages interaction between levels. At its centre, a tapered skylight rises above the atrium, drawing daylight deep into the interiors and creating a bright, open atmosphere throughout the home

Design Proposal | Reimagining Teppakulam

SA’s entry for the Reimagining Teppakulam competition reconsiders the temple tank as a civic waterfront at the heart of Trichy, a Tier- 2 town in southern India.

In Tamil, Theppakulam means “Theppam” raft & Kulam means “Pond”

The proposal reclaims the water’s edge as a continuous public realm, reconnects pedestrian networks, activates inactive edges, restores heritage assets, and introduces plazas, promenades, and gathering spaces around the tank.
