A moment of engagement, exchange, and appreciation for the evolving landscape of architecture and design.

It was a pleasure to be invited to D-arc BUILD as a jury member, offering an opportunity to engage with emerging ideas, thoughtful design approaches, and diverse perspectives from across the industry.

Being part of the jury was a meaningful experience not only to evaluate the work presented, but also to observe the thought processes, intent, and conversations shaping contemporary architecture and design.

The gathering brought together architects, designers, and creative minds, creating a space for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and a closer look at the directions the industry continues to take.

Experiences like these reinforce the importance of sharing knowledge, encouraging new perspectives, and contributing to the larger design community.

As a practice, we look forward to continuing to engage with such platforms and conversations that encourage meaningful exploration in architecture and design.

Before a terrace becomes a place to dine, gather and pause, it has to work as a carefully considered composition.

The planning here looks at more than furniture placement. Circulation, seating, service areas, levels, sightlines and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces all come together to shape how the terrace is experienced.

The architectural plan above the finished space reveals that process from lines on paper to movement in reality.

For us, thoughtful architecture begins by understanding how people will inhabit a space long before they step into it.

Here, warm timber surfaces, exposed structural lines and woven pendants create a layered interior, while generous glazing keeps the surrounding landscape within the frame.

But the real design lies in the relationship between these elements.

Some spaces are experienced through architecture. Others are experienced through what architecture allows you to see.

At Aloha on the Ganges, the rooftop dining spaces are positioned to keep the Himalayan landscape at the centre of the experience. As daylight fades, the architecture shifts with it from a bright, open setting to a warm, intimate atmosphere.

The stepped levels, open terraces, and layered canopy create multiple vantage points, ensuring that the mountains remain part of the dining experience.
Because when the view is this powerful, architecture should frame it, not compete with it.

Set along the Ganges and surrounded by the Himalayan landscape, Aloha on the Ganges is designed as an experience deeply connected to its setting.

The planning allows the river, mountains, and open landscape to remain an essential part of the visual and spatial experience. Built forms are carefully positioned across the site, creating moments of pause, gathering and connection with nature.

For Studio B Architects, the idea was never to overpower the landscape but to design within it, respond to it, and let it shape the experience.

At Aloha on the Ganges, the rooftop canopy brings together a considered structural grid, warm timber tones, translucent roofing and ambient pendant lighting, creating a sheltered space that remains visually connected to the outdoors.

The architectural sketch layered over the finished structure reveals the thinking behind it: every beam, junction, material, and opening has a role in shaping the final experience.
