The Studio for Collaborative Design (Studio CoDe) is a collaborative partnership of professionals co-founded by three SSAA alumni - Rajiv Bhakat, Amrita Dasgupta and Vikas Kanojia. With significant work experience at a number of award winning, Indian and international firms within a variety of disciplines, the three of us believe that design overlaps and functions across design disciplines, scales
, typologies and boundaries. To address the multilayered nature of design, we chose to integrate our experiences within a single cohesive platform and offer design services across several spheres - architecture, urban design, communication and interior design. We practice within a Studio environment – a creative and productive space. A studio as opposed to an office encourages thinking, learning and open platform communication. It allows us to challenge ourselves and our pre-conceived notions. Our intent is to foster a rewarding environment allowing for design discussion and experimentation. Ideas and solutions can come from anybody. Within that framework, our team is capable of tackling a variety of design challenges creatively and appropriately. Since inception, Studio CoDe has been commissioned to design many private residences, several corporate office interiors, two master plans, several multi-storey housing developments, retail and office complexes, retail interiors, a pharmaceutical plant, websites and brand identity development projects across eight cities in India for private clients, corporations and developers. Two of our partners are LEED Accredited Professionals and have worked extensively on projects incorporating leading green practices. All three Principals of CoDe are teaching and mentoring at leading institutions across the country, which includes the School of Planning and Architecture and the University School of Architecture and Planning, both in New Delhi, as well as the Indian School of Design and Innovation, a branch of the Parsons School of Design, in Mumbai.
