These “things” include textiles, rugs, lights, artifacts, bric-a-brac, silver and costume jewellery, iron, brass, copper and silver items, small furniture, old prints, lithographs, even old telephones . Things of everyday use of a bygone time become collectables of today. B A E, the exhibition, puts together various collections of vintage items relating to India ----- they may not all
be made in India, but they have existed here ------ and, have become part of our history. This exhibition is being curated bearing in mind that all such things be affordable and tell a story. Choosing these for our first exhibition, has been a matter of a taste and availability more than specific recommendations. To the uninitiated, the exhibition aims to bring a delightful learning. The initiated, collectors of whimsy and vintage we hope to tempt. Collecting such paraphernalia lies in the realm of owning a little bit of history and not only in the attractions of color and pattern. B A E aims to bridge the gap between the Museum and the Mall.
