IVPA welcomes the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India's decision to introduce standard pack sizes for edible oils under the Legal Metrology framework.

As an industry body, IVPA has long advocated for standardization of pack sizes to improve transparency, enable easier price comparison, and empower consumers to make informed choices.

We thank the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and the Department of Consumer Affairs for this important consumer-centric reform. The move will enhance clarity, promote fair competition, and bring greater uniformity across the edible oil sector.
