What do you do when a banquet hall needs a huge span?

You maximise the span and height—but that can create another challenge: a large structural column right in the middle of the space.

For our Series by Marriott hotel in Gorakhpur, we turned that structural requirement into a design feature.

A tree-inspired structure flows organically from the floor, rises around the column and spreads into the ceiling. Once completed, it will be finished in wood, creating a strong architectural focal point.

But it isn’t only aesthetic.

The structure also helps divide the banquet hall into two spaces, with sliding acoustic partitions allowing the two halls to function independently or combine into one larger space.

A hotel bar designed to be remembered.

For this space in our Gorakhpur hotel project, the idea was to create an atmosphere that feels distinct from the rest of the hotel—while still maintaining a visual connection through colour, texture and lighting.

Three details bring the design together:

01 | The Bar
A warm, layered setting with a dedicated bottle display.

02 | The Feature Wall
Wine-glass-inspired lighting creates a subtle visual identity for the space.

03 | The Fabric-Panelled Wall
Integrated lighting and soft textures add depth without overwhelming the interiors.

The goal wasn’t to create just another hotel bar. It was to create small moments within the space that guests naturally notice, experience and remember.
