The old gate opens, and the house is waiting.

This is Neithal Beach House on the Kerala coast. A brick drive, a stone path across the lawn, and a façade of sloped tile roofs, carved wooden railings and stained glass. The carved front door sets the tone for what follows inside.

A carved ceiling starts simply, with a grid of teak beams fixed square and true, overhead.

Then, one by one, each carved square is set into place until the whole ceiling comes together. First the grid. Then the flowers.

Not everything we create is traditional.

For Project Chirag, the architects envisioned a contemporary wooden interior, and we brought it to life exactly as they imagined it. Our roots in traditional woodwork show in the details: a carved pooja unit, a lattice headboard, jaali screens in a modern home.

Freedom was spun on a wheel of wood. 🪵

This Gandhi Jayanti, we honour the humble charkha — a simple tool that carried the weight of a nation's self-reliance. Carved from raw timber by patient hands, it stands as a reminder that true craftsmanship, like true freedom, is built thread by thread, chisel stroke by chisel stroke.
