Fifteen months of returning to Devendra Bhawan. Nearly a decade of conversations before the first drawing was ever made.
Restoration asks for patience. It begins with listening—uncovering histories, honouring those who came before, and understanding what deserves to endure.
Every visit, every conversation, every measured detail became part of a slower, more thoughtful process. Drawings evolved. Materials were questioned. Every piece of furniture was documented with care. Not to recreate the past, but to help it live on.
How joyous this journey has been together with Gayatri singh and Sudhir Singh Dungarpur .Deep gratitude to the Jeernodhar team—Nilesh, Sateesh, Moti, and Ritvika—and to Shubhi and Fenil from the Saka Studio team for walking this journey together.
There is still much to do. But the privilege of restoring a home with such history is, in itself, the greatest reward.
