1. What makes a space feel contemporary today but timeless 10-15 years from now?
I invest in pieces that aren’t trend-driven and juxtapose them with classics that have already stood the test of time.
2. Which elements should be timeless, and which can follow trends?
Keep the architecture and larger furniture timeless. Have fun with armchairs, coffee tables, lighting and accessories, they’re easier to evolve.
3. How do you stop a neutral interior from feeling flat?
By layering texture, sheen, materials and pattern. Texture creates depth in a way colour alone never can.
4. What makes this room feel luxurious without shouting luxury?
The materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Luxury isn’t louder, it’s better executed.
5. Where do you spend the budget, and where do you save?
I’d rather invest in art, rugs, lighting and accessories than another slab of marble. The backdrop matters, but the finishing layers create the emotion.
6. What role does lighting play?
Lighting is more important than furniture. Furniture fills a room. Lighting gives it atmosphere.
7. How do you future-proof an interior?
I design 10–12 years ahead and only choose pieces I believe will still feel relevant a decade from now.
8. What’s the difference between a room that’s Instagram-worthy and one that’s wonderful to live in?
One’s designed for the Gram. The other’s designed for the fam.
9. What makes someone walk in and instantly think, “This just feels right”?
The proportions, sightlines, balance, lighting and textures. People may not notice them but they always feel them. And that’s exactly what I do - make designs thoughtful.
