Soniya Devi is a 27 years old weaver who belongs to the serene village, Aaspura. Her husband works as a daily wage earner, and they have 4 children. She has been weaving for the past ten years. She believes that her association with Jaipur Rugs for the past six years has changed her life because she can now read, write, and support her husband with her income.

Soniya Devi took inspiration from her daily visits to the temple (Mandir) every morning to design this rug. She believes that one should start their day with the blessings of God as it gives positive energy, which enriches our passion for work. She re-creates little temples towards the bottom of the rug to convey her message to the world. She has also woven other elements used to offer prayers, such as an earthen pot AKA Kalash, earthen lamps AKA Diyas and Shakkarparas, a popular snack offered to God in her village.
