Site visit to the Upcoming Agra residence.

Spent a full day with the family,
explained details to the various contractors and local architect.

surveyed the local markets for tiles and stone.
chit chat during the lunch and came to know about the story behind the conception of their 'dream home'. and how did they reach out to me after the failed attempt of getting a good plan with the known architect of the city.

This project make me realize that why and how do an architect is more than just a service provider, now am involved in their day to day dilemma regarding materials, budgeting, vision and problems.

Both excited and nervous about the final outcome.

This is an upcoming residence situated in Agra, the client also is one of my college friend.

'Nani ka Ghar'
The above three are not just words, but is an emotion.
It holds an old album with your siblings, mausi, mama, friends khelna ghumna, etc etc..
We are so lucky to experience the idea of going to nani ke ghar and stay for 7-10 days every year. What makes it more joyous is that it was in a village.

We used to roam in farms, saw beautiful birds,nests, jugnu, etc

Nani ka ghar aj bhi usi awastha me hai.. apne andar dher sari yaade aur khushiya sanjoy hue.. !!

Continuing to the Vastu principles and Architecture design practices based on Climatology:

Don't Buy a south-facing home.
This is a common saying from the people who follow vastu and believe that the homes or plots that are North East facing only are good to purchase. Also, property that is south- or west-facing is dangerous to buy.

Let's understand what the climatic study says :
As clearly visible from the diagram, the sun takes the path from the south in the daytime, so the north wall of the building doesn't get the direct sun rays but the diffuse light only. which makes it more convenient for a person to stand in front of a north wall while entering the house or building.

So now the question is, should anyone buy a South or west-facing home?
My answer is - Yes
We just need to be more cautious while designing and layouting the residence so that we minimize the direct sun effect on our building. there are many ways to do the same, which can be elaborated on in a different section.

We need to understand that the vastu is just a design guideline and not a life-threatening thing if not followed properly.
A well-read architect can solve the vastu issues very easily if he knows the science and logic behind the vastu myths.
