Calling all lovely people for
Mass tree plantation, 2020
This year has been like a nightmare and we are still not able to absorb it. So many lives lost to as well as on the border, fighting with enemies.
With a heavy heart,
Let's mark this plantation drive to remember them all.
This plantation drive is a way to show gratitude towards the front line warriors, who worked day and night to keep us safe, be it docs, sanitary workers, nurses, police personnel, the administration, the border security force, the army.
To remember the ones who couldn't survive the virus mutated, inspite of giving it a tough fight.
To support the ones who fought the virus and made their way back home.
In the memory of the labour we lost on their way home.
For the courage that we held during this lockdown that kept us going.
To all the volunteers, who took care of the unpreviliged while everyone else were at home, thinking about themselves.
For all the Moms n dads who took good care of their families in this difficult times and handled that future generations pretty well.
And the teachers, who made sure kids don't lag behind, while ignoring their own families .
A plantation drive to show our strength and unity to the world during the unprecedented times.
Because we all are in this together.
So, let's pledge to plant on
At any suitable place of your choice... Where the plant is adopted and well taken care of later, because plantation is not about planting a sapling and moving on, it's about nurturing a little soul like your own baby till it learns to survive on it's own.
A very practical place which most of us can opt for is our terraces. Arrange a drum, poke some holes and fill it with a mixture of compost and soil and plant any native tree...

Bahera
Mango etc
Which has a dense foliage and can help in controlling temperature on your terraces and hence the building as a whole. Schools and commercial complexes too can think about taking this as an option to bring succour to the building from the ferocious sun rays, considering it as a long term investment.
So, let's mark the calendar and get ready for mass plantation drive.
