AARANYA HOUSE | Contemporary Kerala Tropical Residence

Aaranya House is a contemporary interpretation of Kerala architecture, where timeless regional character is reimagined through modern tropical design. The residence combines weathered terracotta Mangalore tile roofs, exposed concrete, warm timber detailing, and handcrafted terracotta lattice screens to create a home deeply connected to its climate and landscape.

The double-height entrance pavilion forms the architectural focal point, welcoming visitors beneath a soaring gabled roof supported by monolithic concrete piers. Carefully layered tropical planting, sculpted bonsai ficus trees, natural stone courtyards, and shaded verandas soften the architecture while enhancing passive cooling and outdoor living.

Designed to embrace light, rain, and nature, every material has been selected to age gracefully—from the clay roof tiles and exposed concrete to the warm timber screens and natural stone paving. The result is a residence that feels calm, grounded, and unmistakably rooted in Kerala while expressing a refined contemporary identity.
