IIID Kolhapur Regional Chapter – 29th Annual General Meeting

A year of ideas, engagement, and collective growth came together at the 29th Annual General Meeting of IIID Kolhapur Regional Chapter, held on 11th August 2026 at Deccan College Hall, Kolhapur.

The meeting was graced by Chairman ID. Chandan Mirajkar, along with Office Bearers, Advisory Members, Committee Members, and esteemed members of the Chapter.

The AGM reflected on the Chapter’s journey through 2025–26, highlighting key initiatives, programmes, collaborations, and milestones. The Secretary’s Report, Auditor’s Report, and Accounts were presented and reviewed.

A proud milestone for the Chapter was the achievement of 110 Student Memberships, strengthening our connection with the next generation of designers. The AGM also included the felicitation of our new members, warmly welcoming them into the IIID fraternity. Additionally, two new Co-opted Directors were introduced, further strengthening the leadership team of the Chapter.

As the Chapter looked back on a productive year, the Chairperson shared reflections on his first year of leadership and presented the vision and roadmap for the year ahead.

With renewed energy and a shared commitment to the design fraternity, IIID Kolhapur looks forward to another year of meaningful ideas, stronger connections, and greater possibilities.

*Student Origami Workshop | A Creative Experience*

The Student Origami Workshop, organised by *IIID Kolhapur Regional Chapter* in collaboration with *Deccan College of Interior Design* , was a wonderful celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and imagination.

With the guidance of renowned *Artist Mr. Mandar Vaidya* , the workshop introduced students to the art of paper folding through an engaging and hands-on experience.

The event brought together *75+ students and 20+ design professionals* , creating a vibrant platform for learning and creative exchange. Students from Kalaprabodhini’s Institute of Design, Deccan College of Interior Design, and Sciber College of Interior Design actively participated in the workshop.

A memorable day of learning, creating, and imagining through the art of origami.

On the Occasion of Women’s day, we organized Painting exhibition of 25 Women Artists of various age categories On feminine subjects...
Exhibition was inaugurated by the Hands of Renowned Artist Pratibha Wagh, Great Researcher of Tribal Arts in India. Also She had a very interesting n interacting session with 100+ Deccan Interior college students. Life stories of Padmashree Jaitobai, Padmashree Bhuribai, Padmashree Sonabai who are Tribal Artists, inspired Students to let play Dominant Role of Tribal Arts in Interiors.

Iiid Kolhapur Chapter organized 3 Day exhibition and Students session jointly with Art-connect group, Kolhapur.

संस्कृती आणि भौगोलिकदृष्ट्या जगातील अनेक भागात आदिवासी कला प्रचलित आहे. भारतातत ही मूळ आदिवासीनी निर्माण केलेली चैतन्यशील आणि वैविध्यपूर्ण कलात्मक अभिव्यक्ती आपल्या कलेतून मांडलेली दिसते अध्यात्म, निसर्ग आणि जमातीच्या जीवनशैलीचे प्रतिनिधित्व करणाऱ्या सामायिक आदर्शाशी मजबूत संबंधीत ही कला सांस्कृतिक,आध्यात्मिक श्रद्धे बरोबर ऐतिहासिक घटनांचे प्रतिनिधित्व करत एक समृद्ध दृष्टिकोन आणि भौतिक परिस्थितीचे दर्शन घडवत आजही भावी पिढ्यांना त्यांच्या पूर्वजांशी जोडण्याचा मार्ग म्हणून कार्यरत आहे.

Every idea finds its origin in nature…

At the 27th Charter Day Celebration of the IIID Kolhapur Regional Chapter, held on 15th November at Hotel Sayaji, Architect Krishna Murthy from Folds Design Studio, Mumbai, presented his work through an engaging audio-visual showcase. He spoke about his creative installations at major airports and public spaces across India, sharing the research and experiences behind them. His session was truly inspiring for young designers.

IPC ID. Kishor Patil welcomed the audience and gave an overview of the important initiatives carried out over the past two years. The newly elected Chairman, ID Chandan Mirajkar, then presented his vision and outlined the initiatives planned for the upcoming term.

Architects Shirish Beri, Sanjay Charate, Vivek Sawant, Sanjay Tapkire, Sanjay Adke, Girija Kulkarni and Nupur Magdum, along with several senior architects, members from Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Sangli, professionals and students were present.

The new team—Secretary ID Gaurav Kakade, Vice-Chairman Trade Sharad Pawar, Treasurer Ar. Sachin Bora, Jt Secretry ID Yashoraj Mohite, Managing comittee members ID Abhijeet Chavan, ID Amol Jadhav, Ar. Vitthal Todkar, Tr. Kaushal Sanghavi, and Co-opt Members Ar. Mahesh Chougule, ID. Sandeep Buva, Ar. Abhinav Sawant, ID. Ashish Salokhe and Amit Vaishnav—also participated in the event.
