土生土長香港人，現居印度加爾各答。作品以寫實為主, 多以日常周邊的所見所聞為題材, 喜歡發掘生活的諧趣。

總覺得繪畫不是技巧, 而是自我探索的旅程, 也是發現美的一種訓練。希望作品能帶給人一種手心的溫度。

🪶Mallard 🪶

The male mallard displays bright plumage, while the female is mottled brown. It is the ancestor of many domestic duck varieties.

I often see this kind of ducks with their whole family at the pond near my home. But the ones I saw are likely hybrids with domestic ducks by now.They often swim, waddle around together —I even once saw one chasing off a dog!

🪶Mallard 綠頭鴨🪶

雄性綠頭鴨羽色鮮艷，雌鴨則呈斑駁棕褐色。是許多家鴨品種的始祖。

在住家附近的池塘經常見到佢同成家人，懷疑已經是跟家鴨雜交後的品種，經常見到佢地游水同行行企企，仲見過佢兇啲狗。

🍠即興的番薯煎餅 🍠
Homemade version Misti Aloo Tikki

🔥一時興起，家裡有什麼就抓來捏個餅......
把番薯（地瓜），南瓜烚熟弄成泥 🎃
混進切了丁和烚了的老鼠瓜
還摘了幾片薄荷葉切碎 🌿
加點麥粉就煎煎吧
出來外面脆脆帶點軟糯

成了即興的地瓜煎餅😋
再加上幾條水煮秋葵就成了我們的輕晚餐

🔥Got an urge to cook something crispy, so I just grabbed whatever was lying around at home.
🎃Boiled some sweet potatoes and pumpkin, mashed them up.
Tossed in some diced and boiled potol, with a pinch of crushed mint leaves🌿
Mixed it all with a bit of atta and pan-fried it.

Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside — not bad at all~😋

Added a few boiled okra on the side, and that was our light dinner.

A chicken-sized waterbird often found near wetlands or grassy edges.It has short wings, allowing only low and short flights.
Needs a short running start before taking off
but in water, it's an excellent swimmer!

《蕉葉上的鄉味》
“A Taste from the Banana Leaf”

We have a few banana trees growing in our yard nowadays, so there are plenty of large, fresh leaves to use. Whenever we feel like adding a touch of ritual to a meal, we simply cut one leaf to serve the food—it’s so wide and large that a single leaf can be shared by three people.

Serving food on banana leaves is a tradition seen across many parts of India, especially in the South and East. The leaf is often seen as a symbol of purity and sanctity, commonly used during festivals, religious offerings, and weddings. At home, we place the food more casually, but in traditional settings, people pay great attention to the serving order of dishes, the orientation of the leaf, and the placement of each item. These customs vary subtly across different regions.

From the Ayurvedic perspective, banana leaves are considered cooling in nature, helping to reduce excess pitta (body heat), which makes them ideal for tropical climates. The leaf’s natural wax and plant alkaloids are believed to have antibacterial properties that protect the digestive system. When hot food is served on it, the gentle warmth releases a subtle leaf aroma, adding a unique flavor to the meal while enhancing digestive fire—agni.

現在院子裡長了好多蕉樹，所以有好大片的蕉可以用。有時吃飯想要一點儀式感，我們就會去割一片來盛飯；真的是很寬大的一片葉，所以切開一片已夠三個人用。

蕉葉盛飯是印度很多地方都有的傳統，常見於南印度，東印度等等，有著潔淨、神聖的象徵，很在祭祀、婚禮或慶典會用來盛載食物。我們在家時就比較隨意擺盤，但傳統上人們對於上菜的次序，蕉葉擺放的方向，食物放在蕉葉上的哪個位置都很講究，而在不同的地方習俗都有微細的不同。

阿育吠陀的觀點，蕉葉屬涼性，有降熱 （減低pitta）作用，適合在熱帶地方用來盛飯，相傳蕉葉上的天然蠟質與植物鹼能有助抗菌，能保護腸胃。在蕉葉上放上熱食，葉子在微微加溫下會釋出葉香，為餐食添上風味，也能增強消化火（agni)。

《樹洞》Someone's Hollow

Lately, I don’t know why,
but more people have been coming to me—
sharing, opening up, telling me things they don’t tell others.

I never thought I could be that kind of person.
Someone’s tree hollow.

Sometimes, just listening is enough to touch someone deeply.

Thank you for trusting me and making me realize I could be the quiet place for someone.

🐿 Note:
This is the Indian palm squirrel—also called the three-striped palm squirrel.
We often see them right outside on our balcony, always so full of life.

《印度阿嬤生活小智慧》芒果泡水變溫柔，去熱不上火

As mango season quietly comes to an end here in India, I was reminded that in some other places, it's just the beginning of the season.

So today, I’d like to share a little wisdom I learned from Indian grandmothers about — how to enjoy mangoes.

In India, many people say you should always remove the stem end of a mango,
and soak it in water for at least an hour before eating.

I find it quite scientific — and if you're curious, you can try too.

🔥 To reduce inner heat 🔥

Mangoes are known to be “heaty” — especially in Ayurvedic terms,
they increase Pitta (the fire energy in the body).
If eaten in excess, they may cause mouth ulcers, acne, or digestive discomfort.
Soaking the mango helps release some of this heat and makes it gentler to the system.

💧To remove irritants 💧

The skin of the mango — especially around the stem — sometimes carries a natural sap
that can cause tingling, itching, or irritation around the lips or digestive tract.
Soaking the fruit helps reduce this residue and makes it safer to enjoy.

🥭India has over a hundred varieties of mangoes—perhaps even more.
The one shown in the illustration is a common variety called Himsagar,
often referred to as the king of mangoes in Eastern India.
It’s fragrant, juicy, and has very little fiber.
Here in Kolkata, this is the kind we usually eat.

印度的芒果季悄悄來到尾聲，想起在其他地方芒果季好像才剛開始，所以今天分享這個從印度阿嬤們知道，關於吃芒果的小智慧。

印度人常說，吃芒果最好除去果梗的蒂頭，
起碼泡1小時才吃，我覺得滿科學的，有興趣可以參考。

🔥降火去熱🔥
芒果濕熱眾所周知，在阿育吠陀裡也屬於偏熱性，提升體內火能 （Pitta)的水果，多吃可能會上火或生胃熱，而芒果泡水可以釋放芒果的火，讓它變得溫和一點。

💧去除刺激物殘留💧
芒果皮，尤其蒂頭位置有時會有天然的汁液，這種汁液帶有刺激性，可能導致嘴角發癢發麻，或消化不適，泡水有助減低這種刺激物的殘留。

🥭後記：印度芒果有百多種甚至更多，圖中算是一種常見品種，叫Himsagar，被稱為東印度的芒果之王，果香多汁，纖維又少，我們加爾各答這邊都吃這種。

How to Maintain a Handpainted shirt?
1. No machine wash. Gentle handwash with mild detergent. It's best to turn the garment inside out before washing.

2. Air dry in shade and prevent long time sun exposure.

3. Iron with care. Best to place a cloth in between while ironing . Avoid ironing directly on the painted region.
