For this 12,000 sqft villa in Kolkata, we wanted the younger son’s bedroom to feel comfortable and personal without making it look too themed or over-designed. The idea was to keep it warm, contemporary and easy to live in. Here’s what we focused on:

• We used soft neutral tones across the room and brought in warmth through the wood, fabrics and layered lighting. The overall palette keeps the room calm without making it feel plain.

• The bed becomes the main focus, with its curved headboard and soft upholstered forms making the room feel a little more relaxed and inviting.

• We also created a small lounge corner within the bedroom, so the space isn’t only about the bed. The TV wall, artwork and seating add a more casual, lived-in character to the room.

We wanted this room to feel like a space he could actually grow into, comfortable, understated and still full of character. What would you pick as your favourite detail?

For this 2700 sqft home in Kolkata, we wanted the living and dining areas to feel warm, comfortable and a little understated, without making them feel too formal.

• In the living room, warm wood tones, soft neutral upholstery and the fluted wall add depth without making the space feel heavy. The statement chandelier and artwork bring in just enough character.

• The dining area has a slightly more classic feel, with framed wall panels, a marble dining table and a traditional chandelier. The greenery and large windows keep the space feeling fresh and relaxed.

We kept both spaces connected through the same warm, earthy palette, while giving each its own personality. Simple, warm and made to be lived in. What’s your favourite detail in this space? Let us know in the comments below!

When designing the chairman’s chamber for the Lux Venus office, we wanted the space to feel distinguished and composed, while still being comfortable enough for everyday work and conversations. The idea was to keep the design understated, letting the materials, proportions and details create the character.

• The dark wood panelling brings depth and a sense of warmth, while keeping the overall look sophisticated and timeless.

• The large work desk anchors the room, with its clean lines and muted finishes keeping the setting formal without feeling too corporate.

• Integrated display shelves with warm lighting add a softer, more personal layer to the space, breaking the continuity of the wood.

• A separate lounge area makes the chamber feel more welcoming, creating a comfortable setting for informal meetings and conversations.

• The marble flooring and carefully placed lighting bring in a subtle sense of luxury, tying the entire palette together.

The idea was simple, a chamber that feels authoritative, refined and welcoming, all at once.

For this workspace, we wanted to keep things professional and functional while still making the office feel warm and inviting.

• Clean workstations with warm wood tones keep the space organised and comfortable.

• The terracotta-toned central volume adds a strong visual element and breaks the uniformity of the desks.

• Linear pendant lights add a clean architectural detail while keeping the work areas well-lit.

• In the conference room, the long table, large windows, artwork and display shelving come together to create a space that feels open yet considered.

The overall palette stays warm and neutral, with textures and subtle details doing most of the work.

For the son’s bedroom in this 12,000 sqft villa in Kolkata, we wanted to create a space that feels warm, comfortable, and contemporary without being too formal. Here’s what we worked on:

* The bed wall combines textured panels, warm leather tones, and subtle detailing to give the room a strong yet understated character.
* Large windows bring in plenty of natural light and open up the room, keeping the space bright and relaxed.
* A comfortable seating corner adds a spot to sit, read, or simply unwind.
* The earthy palette, layered textures, and clean furniture keep the overall look sophisticated while still feeling young and personal.

We’re really excited to start working on this one and see it all come together. What do you think of this design so far?

When designing a reception and waiting area like this, we wanted it to feel warm and welcoming without losing the polished character of the space. Instead of treating the reception as just a functional desk, we used the entire area to create a more considered first impression.

• The curved marble reception desk becomes the focal point, softened further by the earthy terracotta planter and warm wood tones behind it.

• The sculptural screens help divide the reception from the work areas without making the space feel closed off.

• Warm, layered lighting runs through the ceiling, display shelves and reception area, keeping the overall palette calm and inviting.

• In the seating corner, the artwork, rounded chairs and rug create a small, comfortable pause within the larger office environment.

For us, the idea was simple, make a functional workplace feel a little more welcoming, a little more personal, and still effortlessly refined. What do you think of this reception space?

When we design a home, we don’t want every space to speak in the same language. Each room has its own mood, depending on how it will be used and how we want it to feel.

For this 25,000 sq. ft. bungalow in Kolkata, we kept the spaces warm, layered and connected to their surroundings. The parent’s bedroom is rich and dramatic, with a beautifully veined stone wall balanced by warm textures and soft lighting. The guest bedroom is quieter and more relaxed, with cane details, muted colours and a touch of artwork.

The casual sitting and glass house take a different approach. Large glass openings bring the greenery right into the experience, while earthy tones, sculptural furniture and statement lighting keep the spaces warm and inviting.

Different rooms, different personalities but together, they create a home that feels cohesive without ever feeling repetitive.

There’s a lot that happens between a drawing and the final space, and these site visits are where it all starts feeling real.
