The brand "Patakaara Fashion & Textile Design Studio" seeks to express a local approach to global aesthetics rooted in India's handloom sector. Weaving that connects with the past rocks and learns to blend them with relevance to the present. Th

ere is an opportunity to work with very common home weavers and discover new weaves by collaborating with their own ideas. Although these weaves may look very simple, the expression of these weaves creates exciting and beautiful things that are relevant to today's lifestyle. Our brand works exclusively with weavers in West Bengal, creating fabrics at the loom stage which are then made into sari's, garments and accessories from our studio in Dankuni-Hooghly, West Bengal, India. In keeping with the current market and as per the exact needs of the people we do the weaving which will be hand woven, will establish a healthy relationship with the environment will be able to blend seamlessly with each season, will have a positive impact on the environment. We try to make each weave a story of its own, in which stories are added to nature's own colour’s. And when this colour is revealed, it gives more power to the stories that effect the environment. Our weavers, dyers, tailor, hand-finishers touch the hands of multiple artists, and we try to make the customers find the magic. After we ourselves are familiar with these things, we introduce them to our friends and other people in the environment. They themselves have appropriated these things and someone new to them has acquired and is using them. If we can bring back a healthy world in this way, then maybe we and our future generations can have a better environment. Let people touch this weaving with their own hands, which is impossible to find in the current local market. Everything cannot be understood from a distance, so we are trying to reach people. Another speciality of ours is hand woven crochet design. My sister is good at making this design. This education is acquired during schooling. She has been doing this for over 25 years. She got this education by reading different types of foreign books. This education has earned itself. Did not take training from any teacher or craftsman separately. We can show you a design of handmade (stitching) crochet that is unique from the other designer people. Started in 2017- Handmade with Love. Before joining artists I worked in the fashion and textile sector. But for now I want to go ahead with them, and want to move forward together by meeting everyone's happiness and sadness. Dol is not just about colours,
Dol is about touch.
Just as one thread embraces another,
colours gently embrace the soul.

Light as abir,
soft as spring itself,
every motif on my loom
carries the story of changing seasons.

This Dol festival,
let colours not only grace the skin—
let them live within the weave, within tradition, within craft.

Because every saree by Patakaara
is not merely to be worn,

এই ছবিটা শুধু একটা লুমের দৃশ্য নয়। এখানে যে সাদা কাপড়টা দেখা যাচ্ছে, সেটার ভেতরে লুকিয়ে আছে অসংখ্য অদৃশ্য পরিশ্রম।

টানা সুতোয় সাজানো warp, নিখুঁতভাবে বসানো হেডল, আর ধীরে ধীরে গড়ে ওঠা নকশা — এই পুরো প্রক্রিয়াটা একা কারও কাজ নয়। এখানে প্রতিটা ধাপে আলাদা দক্ষতা কাজ করে। কেউ সুতো প্রস্তুত করেন, কেউ রং করেন, কেউ টানা তোলেন, কেউ বুনন করেন।

হাতের কাজ মানে শুধু weaving নয় — মানে মনোযোগ, সময় আর দায়িত্ব।
হেডল আই-তে সুতো পরানোর সেই ছোট অথচ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজটাই একটা পরিবারের জীবিকা টিকিয়ে রাখে।

Patakaara-তে আমরা হ্যান্ডলুমকে বেছে নিই শুধু ঐতিহ্যের জন্য নয়, বরং এই কারণেই — এটি একটি সম্পূর্ণ কমিউনিটিকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখে।

"একাকী একজন দাঁড়িয়ে আছে ভোরের প্রতীক্ষাতে"—

কারখানার আলো নিভে এসেছে।
দিনভর সেলাই মেশিনের শব্দ, কাটিং টেবিলের ব্যস্ততা,
হাসি–কথা–পরিশ্রম— সব থেমে গেছে।
শিল্পীরা বাড়ি ফিরেছেন।

সেলাই মেশিনগুলো স্তব্ধ,
টেবিলের ওপর ছড়িয়ে থাকা সুতো–কাঁচি নিঃশব্দ।
কর্কশ দিনের শব্দ থেমে গেছে সন্ধ্যার ভাঁজে।

'কিন্তু' সে রয়ে গেছে।

সে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে—
নীরব কারখানার মাঝখানে,
আলো–ছায়ার ফাঁকে,
অপেক্ষায়।

তার গায়ে সাদা কাপড়ের মৃদু ঢেউ,
কালো নকশায় বোনা স্মৃতি আর মাটির গন্ধ।
তার বুকে সূক্ষ্ম প্লিট,
তার ঘের জুড়ে নীরব জ্যামিতি,
তার পিঠে আঁকা আছে অনুচ্চারিত গল্প।

অসংখ্য হাতের পরিশ্রম,
অসংখ্য স্বপ্নের ছাপ।

এই কারখানা তাকে শুধু বানায়নি,
তাকে গড়েছে।
প্রতিটি সেলাই, প্রতিটি ভাঁজ
তার ভেতরে বুনেছে আগামী দিনের সম্ভাবনা।

সবাই কাজ শেষ করে বাড়ি ফিরলেও
সে রয়ে গেছে—
ডিজাইন থেকে যায়,
আদর্শ থেকে যায়।

এই একাকীত্ব ভয়ের নয়—

In a quiet corner of her home, under the soft golden light of dusk, Susmita sat with a ball of thread beside her. The world outside moved fast — screens flickered, horns blared, and people hurried past one another. But in Susmita’s hands, time slowed. Her crochet hook moved like a painter’s brush — weaving silence, patience, and love into every loop.

Her grandmother had once told her, “Every thread remembers the hands that held it.” Those words echoed in her mind as she worked, and soon the empty thread began to bloom into lace — delicate, alive, and full of soul.

As the night deepened, Susmita whispered softly to herself :-

“Thread by thread, I build a dream,

In threads of time, I do belong.”
