My first sourdough loaf... and I'm so proud of it! 🍞❤️
Two weeks ago, I mixed just flour and water, hoping wild yeast would do its magic. Every day I fed my starter, watched it bubble, worried when it was slow because of the rainy weather, and asked myself a hundred questions.
Today, I finally baked my very first sourdough bread.
Was it perfect? No.
The dough slipped while I was transferring it, so it lost its shape and didn't get the beautiful oven spring or ear I was hoping for. There are so many things I want to improve.
But when I cut it open... it had a soft, chewy crumb, a crispy crust, and that signature tangy sourdough flavor. And that moment made every bit of patience worth it.
This loaf isn't perfect, but it's proof that every expert starts as a beginner. Here's to learning, improving, and baking an even better loaf next time. ❤️🍞
Have you ever tried making sourdough?
