Sitting in this space feels like a full circle moment.

2025 has been one of the most transformative years of my life, personally and professionally. A year of ups and downs, of learning, unlearning, and choosing to trust my instincts more deeply than ever before. Designing this space has been a reflection of that inner shift.

I’m forever grateful to my parents, who believed in me and my vision even when the path wasn’t obvious. Their support has been steady and unwavering, and this space wouldn’t exist without that foundation.

Dhruva - my sister, my co-founder, and a constant presence through the journey of building Rudra Yogshala. From brand ideas and conversations to ex*****on, I’m grateful to have this shared vision of building it together.

Looking ahead with a full heart.
Grateful for what has unfolded, and open to what’s still becoming.

The practice hall, seen in its entirety.

Terracotta wraps the walls and ceiling, creating a continuous, grounded envelope. The ceiling design holds the space together, while wood shelves add warmth without drawing attention. The temple corner sits quietly within the room, anchoring the practice.

Light filters in softly, shifting through the day.
Eco-friendly green mats bring contrast to the earth tones, echoing the brand palette. Cork blocks keep the materials honest and tactile.

Nothing here competes for attention.
Just space, breath, movement and time with yourself.

The welcome lounge sets the tone for what lies ahead in the Shala.

Two skylights sit overhead, one centered above the seating area, the other placed directly above the doors to the practice hall. They read almost like portals, marking a shift from the outside world into a more inward state.

The seating carries Rudra’s brand colours, keeping the space grounded and familiar. A dedicated water station holds a copper pot, drawing from Ayurvedic tradition, with handmade clay cups bringing in the simple tradition of drinking water.

The washroom becomes the anomaly.
Wrapped entirely in green, it feels like stepping into a different zone before returning to the larger rhythm of the space.

The rest of the shala remains restrained and earthy, largely monochromatic in terracotta, with subtle hints of green woven through.

A space designed around transitions, thresholds, and how one moves, mentally and physically, from arrival to practice.

Small moments within the space.

A wall-carved temple.
Light shifting through the day, filtering in through wooden blinds.
A ceiling designed to soften sound and expand through the space.
A mirror placed simply where it’s needed.

These details came together slowly.
Each one chosen to create a sense of calm and familiarity.
A space meant to be experienced and noticed in pauses.

A-U-M, the first sound of the Universe became the starting point of this space. Interpreted through three expanding circles, the ceiling sets the rhythm of the shala, creating a sense of movement, continuity, and focus. The design was approached as an experience rather than a visual statement, where sound was considered early on to support an even, immersive atmosphere. Every decision here is deliberate; shaped to influence how the body moves, how the breath settles, and how one feels held within the space. The intention was simple: to create an environment that supports presence, without asking for attention.

From the moment you enter, the space begins to guide you inward. The circular lights in the ceiling act as portals; one leading into the waiting lounge, the other placed intentionally right before the practice hall. Thresholds between worlds. Invitations to leave the external behind and step into another dimension of presence.

Materiality grounds the experience.
Earthy terracotta walls anchor the space in warmth and memory; reminiscent of old Indian structures. Wood appears softly, copper holds water as it always has, handmade clay cups bring tactility back into the simplest rituals. Light filters gently through wooden blinds, creating movement without distraction.

The temple, designed to feel as though it is carved out of the wall itself. Shaped like a traditional Hindu temple arch, holds Lord Shiva. Rudra a form of Lord Shiva, fierce, primal, the force of destruction and transformation. A reminder of what practice is truly meant to invoke.

Then there’s the anomaly; the bathroom, wrapped in green. A deliberate contrast. A pause. A reminder that balance comes from thoughtful disruption.

Every colour in the space comes directly from Rudra Yogshala’s brand language. Cork yoga blocks, eco-friendly mats, materials that feel honest in the body and responsible to the earth.

ALT SPACE designed this space beyond just aesthetics.
A space shaped by psychology, ritual, and rhythm.
Designed to support practice, not overpower it.
A space for inner inquiry instead of a performance.

Special thanks to ♥️

Category - Commercial & Workplace Design

Thrilled to nominate a project very close to my heart for the upcoming x x .in awards.

This space was designed for my father’s company, Konark Realtors - a real estate and development firm - making it a deeply personal journey. Inspired by his long-standing wish to have an office reminiscent of the post-colonial era, I reimagined that vision through a contemporary lens. Bringing it to life was more than just design, it was a tribute and one of the most special experiences of my career.

From the moment I stepped into this project, it felt like play disguised as work. Im so grateful to my dad for the trust, the freedom and the rare gift in this profession of no budget constraints. It was my personal canvas, where my ideas could flow without fences, allowing me to be bold and a little extravagant 💁🏻‍♀️
