β¨οΈ What do I miss the most about UK?
Being a part of crafters' market. I had several good ones, more 0 sales and some meh markets. But I loved the possibilities of exploring talented bunch of makers, & being able to display and trade my creations. I felt seen, heard and appreciated for my art.
Sharing here some memories.
1. I traded the most in 2023 because by then, i had substantial amount of stock to display. I did craft fairs, farmers markets and displayed in pop up shop. I remember the first time I went far. I travelled via public transport and went to Leighton Buzzard with my husband with our 2 big trolleys. We had challenges navigating but made it. This place always had the best customers and audience. I could always atleast cover my costs with the sales and made some bits & bobs of profit which I usually spent there buying lots of locally grown cherries everytime, lunches & bath salt from apothecary store.
2. This was my first craft market as a maker. I didn't even know how much to carry to the stall but it was a fun day. I was barely 2 months into learning macrame & pot hangers were my obsession to make. They still are tbh. They made the stall look alive.
3. This was a market day in Hackney, which was not good in terms of sales but had a good time seeing other traders and their works.
