The Sun Temple KONARK was built in 1250 by King Narsingha Deva to commemorate his victory over a Muslim invasion. Made with Black Granite and Sandstone it took 16 years to complete. Three Statues of Lord Surya, representing Dawn-noon-Dusk were carved of high quality Granite. The entire temple was 32% iron. Turkey is famous for its tile - making heritage. Iznik tiles are famous. Actually Iznik is a place near Istanbul, where this art actually started.
