Altana at 46 | Kids’ Room

Designing a bedroom for children requires a completely different type of empathy. It cannot just be a scaled-down version of the rest of the house; it has to live double and triple lives. It needs to be a quiet room for focus, a highly organized storage hub, and a magical, unstructured playhouse all at once.

For the kids’ room at Altana at 46, we wanted to honor the home’s modern farmhouse soul while injecting a sense of lighthearted wonder. The layout was engineered to completely maximize floor space, giving them a wide-open area to create, build, and play. We customized a beautifully structured bed assembly that feels like a private fort, paired with a clean, distraction-free double study desk that frames a quiet pocket for reading and homework.

Every single storage cabinet was designed with the future in mind: built flush into the architecture to tuck away toys and books today, while easily adapting as the children grow. It is a vibrant, sunlit sanctuary that balances structure with imagination, proving that functional spaces can still have a massive heart.

Altana at 46 | Living Room + Deck

Interior architecture is completely defined by how a home moves. It’s about the physical sensation of walking from one material story into the next.

At Altana at 46, we meticulously mapped the layout so that the indoor living room and the outdoor sky deck read as a single, uninterrupted sanctuary. Watch as the rich, cozy warmth of the indoor oak flooring flows seamlessly toward the threshold, dissolving into a massive continuous floor of raw, leather-finished Portuguese stone laid in a strict herringbone pattern.

There are no stepping blocks, no jarring structural transitions, and no visual breaks. Just a fluid, effortless path that carries you away from the city’s chaos and leads you straight into the clouds. This is what it means to build a farmhouse in the sky.

Altana at 46 | Living Room

When you are designing with a strictly neutral palette, the work shifts entirely from selecting shades to obsessing over textures. For the main seating corners of the living room, our goal was to prove that an understated aesthetic can feel incredibly warm, layered, and full of soul.

We anchored the lounge space using bespoke upholstery in soft ivory and rich beige tones, balancing the clean lines with organic textures. To break up the solid surfaces, we curated custom West Elm cushions with a subtle ikat print, bringing in a quiet, tactile rhythm. The room is grounded by a continuous foundation of premium laminated oak, which perfectly echoes the earthy tones of a commanding custom artwork hanging proudly above the central sofa.

To pull the freshness of the sky deck inside, we softened the corners with a towering, light-catching olive tree nested inside a raw planter vase. It’s a masterclass in quiet luxury: where every single piece feels deeply intentional, creating a cozy pocket designed for slow, everyday living.

Altana at 46 | The Deck

This is the space that demands you to stop and just breathe. Perched on the 46th floor, our biggest priority was protecting this sweeping, uncompromised panorama of the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and the sea beyond. But designing a 900-square-foot deck for a three-generation family meant balancing a love for grand hosting with a deep need for daily privacy.

We resolved this through deliberate zoning and raw, tactile materials. Instead of building rigid structures that would block the view, we anchored the entire expanse with leather-finished Portuguese stone laid in a strict herringbone pattern to catch the shifting coastal light.

The deck splits effortlessly into two distinct moods: A grand social hub featuring a massive island bar wrapped in custom oak panels & flanking the children’s wing, the energy softens into a quiet nook with an activity table framed by lush green, perfect for morning coffees or open-air homework.

By connecting every private bedroom threshold directly to this fresh-air spine, the family can host on a grand scale while ensuring anyone can slip away for a quiet moment in the clouds.

Altana at 46 | The Deck

Just past the glass doors of the living room lies the space that quickly became the true emotional heart of this entire project, our 900-square-foot sky deck. But before we show it’s massive, sweeping scale, we wanted to take a moment to look closely at its two opposite ends.

Because a terrace this vast only works if it has pockets that feel completely human.

On one end sits a warm, high-energy corner designed for gathering. It centers around a cozy lounge setup featuring organic wood-and-rattan furniture hand-crafted by Abaca, sitting right beside a massive island bar wrapped in clean oak paneling. It’s where the family plays host, drinks are poured, and the city lights take over.

But if you walk all the way to the other end, the mood shifts completely. Right outside the children’s wing, the deck tapers into a quiet, sun-drenched nook anchored by a small round table. It’s a peaceful little spot meant for morning coffees, checking emails, or finishing homework against the glass railing.

Two completely different energies, sitting on the exact same platform 46 floors in the air.

Altana at 46 | Living Room

When you are floating 46 floors in the sky, it is easy for a space to feel detached and clinical. The skyline out the window is breathtakingly grand, but for this home to truly belong to the family, we knew the inside had to feel incredibly grounded. It needed to be a place where the hustle of Mumbai drops away the second you sit down together.

We answered that need by weaving a classic farmhouse soul straight into the architecture of the main room. Standing here, everything feels balanced and still. We broke through a solid partition wall to build a deep, arched sideboard niche backing it with raw, textured brick to give the dining area an instant sense of permanence. Framed perfectly on either side are classic glass barn doors that lead into the kitchen and foyer, letting light pass effortlessly across the space.

With the warmth of a solid wood table under the warm glow of the pendant lamp, and Symphony’s oak flooring underfoot, this room has become exactly what the family hoped for: a quiet sanctuary to gather, share a meal, and completely breathe.

Altana at 46 | Foyer, Living Room

In an Indian household, the entrance has to work incredibly hard defensively. It is a spatial boundary that requires high utility, but it must never sacrifice the home’s initial emotional expression.

Once you enter the apartment, we wanted the city’s chaotic energy to drop away instantly. To establish our modern farmhouse vernacular right at the threshold, we wrapped the lower perimeter in a crisp white half-wall shiplap wainscoting detail, anchoring it with a custom oak shoe rack from Symphony. A delicate chandelier hangs overhead, casting a soft glow that reflects off a carefully positioned statement mirror to bring an immediate warmth to the narrow volume.

But the true intelligence of this foyer lies in its structural boundary. We engineered a dedicated set of inner double doors to cleanly separate this arrival zone from the main living areas. It ensures that courier drops, daily deliveries, and the bustle of the outside world stay firmly at the doorstep, keeping the visual hush, layout symmetry, and sacred privacy of the family sanctuary completely intact.
