The living, dining and balcony became an exploration of craftsmanship and material storytelling. Beyond the neo-classical mouldings, almost every furniture piece was custom-designed and handcrafted, often requiring us to collaborate with skilled artisans and experiment with new materials. What initially felt ambitious came together into a cohesive space where each element could hold its own identity.
Old Burma teak defined key pieces like the doors, console and tables, while brass details, custom lighting from Chor Bazaar, gold leaf accents and intricate jaali work added depth. The dining table was created from leftover plywood and veneer and seating was custom-made with carefully selected fabrics. Functional elements like concealed storage, a hidden clothesline and balcony seating were seamlessly integrated.
Art tied the narrative together from the client’s Siddharth Shingade painting to a commissioned Pichwai from Nathdwara, honouring her Marwadi lineage. Every piece carries a story and the client’s continued appreciation remains the most meaningful outcome of the project.

Sustainability guided this transformation we salvaged and refinished existing furniture wherever possible, giving it a renewed life while reducing waste.
The kitchen was expanded by merging an adjoining half-room, allowing space for a store and utility. We restored the original sink, reused existing granite, and designed a calm, classical kitchen with open displays to showcase the client’s crockery collection.
The bedrooms were refreshed with minimal yet impactful changes, lighter finishes, refinished furniture, softer tones and reconfigured layouts. The master bedroom gained warmth and openness, while the son’s new larger room was redesigned to feel brighter, functional and youthful.

Wedged between two fully operational salons, one a dominant brand and the other a long-standing favourite, this 427 sq. ft. space had to shout without screaming. The brief was simple and brutal: feel larger than life, control sound and become a landmark.
We wrapped the exterior in a bold black shell for instant recall, then unfolded a white, light-filled interior softened with arches, tropical greens and warm browns. Boutique luxury emerged through curated details custom rattan chandeliers, houndstooth seating, tan and olive upholstery and oversized monochrome portraits.
Small in size, unapologetically big in presence.

Set within a long, linear footprint, the salon gently unfolds around a striking angled square that forms its visual heart, with a discreet extension housing the washroom. To maintain a sense of openness, enclosed spaces are placed at the far ends. The beauty room, calm and quiet, sits at one extreme, while the angular core is shaped into a glass-enclosed hair studio elegant to look at and thoughtfully sound-controlled. This sculptural element opens up the center of the salon for hair wash, pedicure, and nail services. At the front, a warm reception, waiting, and retail area welcomes guests, setting a refined yet relaxed tone from the moment they arrive.

We transformed the wider passage outside both bedroom entrances into a cozy media den a shared nook for the family to unwind and watch TV together. The extended window wall offered just enough depth to add a cushioned settee without compromising circulation, while a pull-out bed beneath provides flexibility for guests or impromptu movie nights.
As devoted Krishna Bhakts, the family wanted their faith to subtly infuse the home. A serene temple room was therefore carved out from the den, creating a quiet space for daily prayer and reflection. Their cherished collection of heirloom and new Pichwais was thoughtfully placed throughout the interiors, inviting gentle moments of discovery as one moves through the home.

Having known this home for years, we were able to unlock its true potential when the family finally decided to renovate. With redevelopment uncertainty and a limited budget, creativity became our biggest tool.
The layout was reconfigured swapping the living room with the front bedroom to create a full-sized daughter’s room and a cozy family den. The master bedroom was restored to its original size, complete with a swing facing the bed for casual conversations.
A long passage, once merely functional, became the home’s highlight divided by arches and patterned flooring into distinct zones: a welcoming foyer, an open kitchen- living transition, a garden-facing nook, and a media lounge.
Planters facing the main road brought privacy and new openings for low-height windows on the backside brought lots of greenery and abundant light, turning a once-dark home into one that feels open, connected, and full of life.

“This residence was shaped with a clear vision-quick timelines, a modest budget and lasting comfort. The outcome is a minimal yet soulful home, rooted in Indian culture and expressed through a calm white canvas. Gradually layered with antiques, handcrafted details and an evolving collection of art, it continues to grow and evolve as a reflection of life and stories gathered over time.”

Bold yet inviting, the study-library reflects the couple’s love for books and colour. A monochrome shelving system frames their collection, while a rust sofa, ikat curtains, and a handmade rug bring vibrancy. With space for study, reading, TV, and even hosting, the room balances work and leisure seamlessly.
