When we started Ateliers De’esign, social media wasn’t really a part of the plan. We were busy doing what we knew best, designing spaces, being on sites, figuring things out as we went, and slowly building a practice that meant something to us.
Ateliers De’esign was started by him in 2012. I joined him in 2015, after we got married, and over the years, what started as a design practice became something much bigger, a shared journey, a shared business and, in many ways, a huge part of our life together.
For the longest time, we had an Instagram account, but we were hardly active on it. We were comfortable doing the work, but not so comfortable putting ourselves out there. Being on camera, sharing our process, talking about our work, all of it felt unfamiliar.
But things change. And at some point, we realised that if the world around us was changing, we had to learn to change with it too.
So I started showing up. I started recording little videos on site, taking pictures, talking about the things we were working on and slowly letting go of that fear of being on camera. It wasn’t perfect, and honestly, it still isn’t. But it became something I genuinely started enjoying.
And somewhere along the way, this page stopped being just a place to showcase interiors.
It became a space where we could share what happens behind the finished spaces, the people, the process, the challenges, the little wins, the things we learn, and sometimes even the things we’re still figuring out.
Today, Ateliers De’esign is not just our work. It’s a community we’ve built along the way, and every person who follows, interacts, asks a question, shares something or simply spends a little time here has become a part of that journey.
We’ve been doing this for more than a decade, but in many ways, we still feel like we’re learning every day.
And maybe that’s the best part of it, knowing that there’s always something new to learn, something new to create and another chapter waiting to be written.
So, if you’re new here, welcome to Ateliers De’esign. And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for being a part of our journey. 🤍
