Nirajan is all about Women Empowerment, Eco-friendly accessories. Recycle & Reuse of fabric. Nirajan, is a creative endeavour of a team of creative women.

Nirajan began as a small home-based enterprise. What began as a hobby to help friends in the neighbourhood recycle unused fabric and silk, ended in a small-scale home entrepreneurship. Being creative, there was the need to factor in the effort, with full time work. Weekends were spent creating new craft items with fabric and training the team. Cloth bags / satchels home-produced and hand painted;

also customized to order are regular favourites. Festival and wedding orders of potlis, batwas, envelopes, goody bags, etc. in various hues and colours are created. In order to bring novelty to the range, each year a new gift item is created to be gifted to friends at Diwali time. A regular set of customers ensure that we have orders through the year. Our signature theme, Recycle, Go Green, Use Cloth bags, Women Empowerment...

Festive Greetings to all of you who like and follow our page.

Starting July each year, we get into a frenzy of creative, passionate, hectic, deadline-driven activity cycles. Designing, creating samples, getting approvals, sourcing fabric and accessories, going into production, packing, shipping.... The cycle ends there. And a new one begins. We enjoy this seasonal bout of activity each year. With each team member having assigned roles, it's much easier and streamlined too. Our Celebrations and holidays only happen after Diwali; peaceful and quiet times

Just recently I was reminiscing over the Christmas Carnival held a couple of years back... and the stall that Nirajan Team had put up.

Suddenly a decision to do a street fair by a few of us... all creatively self-employed, propelled us into action and what was so impromptu, turned into a wonderfully interactive and happy evening. ❤❤

We finally got a well deserved break for some fun time. The team has been working non stop since August 2021, without a break. We chose to chill at home over a relaxed lunch... chatted, giggled and laughed.....After meeting so many deadlines, back to back...

Nirajan exists and has progressed because of the efforts of all these lovely people and more.....my wonderful family and friends.

A milestone achieved for Nirajan. We have grown; now a team of 4. Amazing, gutsy, dedicated, committed, hardworking wonderful women....I would love to keep them smiling always.

And help more women smile....

It takes months, sometimes a year or more to train someone to our level of perfection; we still need to improve by some clients' standards. We get better with every feedback and hone our skills even more. We never stop learning.

Our floral contribution. This lovely drawstring jewellery pouch was created for my tailoring Guru and teacher and go-to person for everything on earth... Fabric, Accessories, Music, Art and craft. It was an upcycled product and all the more special...

This went through many, many makeovers and finally today we have some beautiful creations; some designed by us, some designs customized for our special clients.

We just love these and don't tire of making any number of them.

Nirajan Stories #2

Work of the early years. Potlis - the beginning of Nirajan...my passion of working with fabric.

We began with a request from a dear friend, to upcycle saris into usable products. There began our Potli story....Square, Rectangle, Round, Semi circular... name it and we attempted and customised all types of potlis as per requirement of the client.

From humble beginnings of Simple potlis/ Tamboolam bags / Vetale Paaku Bags as they are called, we have made so many versions. Meticulous trials and retrials done, we got the potlis just right by us and for the customer too.

**(Potlis - The silk drawstring bags used for festive and party giveaways).

Nirajan Creations' focus quality and meticulous finishing of the product, has got us orders, repeat orders and now we make potlis for many weddings / functions/ celebrations as return favours.

It's been a pleasure, designing each product to completion; a real creative high achieved. We always work to the budget of the customer; a win win for both.

Nirajan Stories #1

Going down Memory lane and revisiting the beginning of my creative journey.

I was always creative as a kid and kept colouring. My Mother believed I was good and needed further training; she was my biggest motivator and honest critic. Mrs Engineer was our Art teacher in Secunderabad. Cousins and friends; we would all go for class, a fun Summer vacation ritual.

I enjoyed Oil Painting the most, as it gave me the freedom to wipe off and redo. The smell of paint, linseed oil, kerosene, messy fingers, messier finger nails and paint smeared clothes, still lingers on. The happiness when Mrs. Engineer would say, "It's done, you can take it home" after giving feedback, was immense. Those were the days...

The skill learnt was honed by practise and making paintings for family and friends. While Graduating in Home-Science, our Art lecturer, exposed us to so much more - chalk work, knife painting, embroidery, so much more. My vision of Art expanded dramatically.

This last one year has opened my eyes to so many more forms of Art. So much more to learn and explore; to incorporate into my Nirajan work too.

Always a learner; hope to be a creative learner in the future too...Sharing some of my favourite work
