Most homeowners stop at a single overhead light, but designers know that luxury is found in the layers. From choosing the perfect 2700K warmth to making sure your textures (like that Kota stone or wood veneer) actually pop, these 5 rules are the foundation of every project.

STOP LIGHTING YOUR HOME LIKE A GAS STATION. 🛑⛽️

If your space feels “off” but you can’t put your finger on it, it’s 90% likely your lighting. Here are the 3 mistakes you’re probably making (and how to fix them):

1️⃣ The “Big Light” Energy
Relying only on overhead lighting flattens the room and creates harsh shadows.
✅ THE FIX: Layering. You need at least 3 light sources per room (e.g., one floor lamp, one table lamp, and one accent light).

2️⃣ The “Hospital Blue” Tint
Using “Daylight” or “Cool White” bulbs in a living space makes it feel clinical and cold.
✅ THE FIX: Look for bulbs marked 2700K to 3000K (Warm White). It mimics the golden hour glow and makes skin tones look better.

3️⃣ Forgetting “Eye-Level” Light
If all your light comes from the ceiling, the room feels “heavy.”
✅ THE FIX: Add lamps at eye level. Sconces, buffet lamps, or even LED strips behind the TV add depth and a “high-end” hotel feel.
