We spent a long time wandering around the Barbican during our trip to London in 2022, capturing it from every conceivable angle we could find. It lived up to its status as a source of architectural fascination. Still harbour a fantasy of living there one day.

As with all our photography prints, this print is printed to order (no dead stock) on plastic-free sustainably-sourced photography paper that uses water-based inks. We offer free shipping worldwide and three for two on all prints (offer added automatically at checkout). Purchase here > https://bit.ly/3P01gWr

A scene I photographed in Shoreditch, East London. The railway bridge and the dark figures on motorbikes make me think of the film The Lost Boys. Am also brought to mind of the album cover of Purple Rain https://bit.ly/4sOxfXy

Gorgeous stunning Malta gallariji, traditional enclosed balconies specific to Malta, built in the 17th century and often painted in vibrant colours. The gallariji on this building, which we photographed in Valletta in 2022, are painted in dusky blue https://bit.ly/42lZCkS

Spandauer Strasse 2 in Berlin, a striking example of modernist architecture, photographed by us on Christmas Eve. A stark look at urban living, each window containing a home with a life, a family, individuals with hopes, worries and dreams. In the windows with the lights on I picture a cosy scene celebrating Christmas Eve.

This photograph was the result of Paul and I standing for hours in a Glasgow Street waiting with our fingers poised over the shutter button of our camera. It captures the demolition of the Red Road Flats, among the most iconic and divisive buildings in Glasgow history. Built in the 1960s, the Red Road Flats represented a frontier for architectural design and social planning. Built with the aim of providing safe, modern housing for residents moved from the overcrowded slums of Glasgow, the dream never lived up to the reality. In 2015 the flats were demolished and one by one, other high rise flats in Glasgow followed, crumbling to the ground in dust.

Back to this photograph. The company carrying out the demolition didn't give a time it was going to happen so we arrived first thing in the morning, waiting at our vantage point in a Springburn street. We waited and waited and waited. Then at around 2:30pm we heard a faint siren, the only indication the demolition was imminent. Our fingers were poised over the camera, they had been for six hours, when the explosives were detonated. It was worth all the time and effort: we got the shot.

We took this photograph in Naples in April 2019. It has so many typical Napoli details: the Vespa, the laundry hanging outside the window, the canopy, the curved archway. I love Naples so.

We took this photograph of the beach in Cefalu, Sicily (where the outdoor cinema scene was filmed in Cinema Paradiso) in September 2022. There's something about this scene, the framing of the archway, the rows of striped umbrellas, transforming it to black and white, that gives it a vintage Italian cinema vibe. Makes me want to lie under one of those striped umbrellas wearing a retro swimsuit clutching an aperol spritz.

We took this photograph in Mumbai, India in December 2012. It shows a man washing his taxi in front of a section of "The Great Wall of Mumbai," a community art project that invited locals to paint murals depicting their hopes, dreams, criticisms and frustrations.
