We celebrated the launch of our collection in Ooty with an intimate high tea—set against the serene beauty of the hills, filled with warm conversations and a close circle of guests.

A true highlight was Dr. Tarun Chhabra’s insightful talk on the Todas and the rich artistic legacy of the Nilgiris—tracing a history that spans over a thousand years. It was a powerful reminder of the depth and meaning woven into every thread of this collection.

Inspired by the spirit of Toda Pukhoor embroidery and thoughtfully reimagined for the table, Threads of the Nilgiris brings heritage into the rhythm of everyday dining.

An ode to the Toda people, the indigenous guardians of the Nilgiris, Nish*ta Fine Tableware introduces Threads of the Nilgiris, a contemporary reinterpretation of Toda embroidery. The collection traces its origins to an old photograph of a Toda family that first awakened Nish*ta Thakurdas’ curiosity about the intricate language of Pukhoor embroidery, later deepened through her engagement with Toda women and their craft. Translating the rhythm of Pukhoor through line, form and geometry, the collection bridges heritage and modernity, bringing the geography, ecology and traditions of the Nilgiris into the everyday ritual of dining.
