He has been with the same company for 25 years now. He joined there as a young man. He worked 24/7, gave his life and soul to the company, which he has seen grow from a team of 10 to 1000.

Then suddenly he felt a lull and something inside him snapped. He felt he was no longer wanted and started dragging himself to work. Everyday getting up and going to the workplace became a drudgery.

He started finding faults with his bosses and his juniors. He blamed them for all the misery in his life. He felt his own family was letting him down. His whole world came crashing down.

He fell into depression. He consulted a psychotherapist and it was revealed to him that he never did anything but work all his life and missed out on the small pleasures of living.

It was not work that bothered him but the lack of a life beyond it.

Sometimes we don’t realise what is wrong in our lives. Sometimes the root of a problem is much deeper than we imagine. Sometimes the symptoms of a disease are not visible, just felt.

Stop blaming people, the system or your workplace. Look within.

The problem and the solution is almost always, YOU.
